About Colliga Colliga builds science-based digital mental-wellness programs — turning peer-reviewed research on how people think, feel, and change into practical, structured tools people use in daily life. Programs like Assertiveness 101, Stress Relief, and Burnout Reset combine AI coaching, surveys, and rich multimedia content, developed with scientists and refined through ongoing research. People use a cross-platform mobile app; program authors and admins work in a real-time web console. We ship to iOS and Android on a production Phoenix backend with background processing, S3 media, and third-party integrations (AI, payments, e-signature, push). Because we handle sensitive mental-health data, privacy and careful data handling are first-class engineering concerns. Why This Matters Most research on how people cope, grow, and change never reaches the people it could help. We build the product that closes that gap — evidence-based tools that measurably improve real users' mental well-being. That product only helps people if it's up, and safe with their data. That's the part you own. The Role We're a small product team shipping fast. You'll own the infrastructure and release layer — keeping production healthy, making deploys and app-store releases reliable and repeatable, and steadily replacing manual steps with automation. This is a part-time retainer (~10 hours/week) for someone who can also demonstrate a good judgment about what to fix first and what can wait. Day to day, you'll: Own deploys and environments across a Phoenix/Postgres stack, with pipelines that ship safely — health checks and rollback, not manual steps. Own the mobile release pipeline end to end — CI builds, code signing, and store submission for iOS and Android across environments. Stand up and maintain observability — error tracking, alerting, log retention — so failures surface before users hit them. Own database operations — backups you've tested restoring, production migrations, pooling, performance. Keep CI healthy and enforce the merge gate — tests, lint, and typecheck green on every change. Manage secrets and cloud access, and move infrastructure toward reproducible, coded environments. Strengthen our security and compliance posture — least-privilege access, encryption, key rotation, dependency and secret scanning, incident response. Stack Backend Elixir / Phoenix, PostgreSQL via Ecto, Oban background jobs Deployed to a managed Elixir PaaS; Docker for local development AWS (S3, Bedrock), plus AI, email, and e-signature integrations Mobile React Native + TypeScript, native iOS and Android builds Fastlane with managed signing, push notifications Must Have Real production ownership — you've been the person on the hook when something broke at an awkward hour. CI/CD depth — pipelines that deploy safely Mobile release engineering — Fastlane, iOS signing, App Store Connect, Google Play publishing. Hard requirement; it's half the role. PostgreSQL operations — backup and restore, production migrations, pooling, performance triage. Observability — you've instrumented systems and have opinions about what's worth paging on. AWS fundamentals — IAM, S3, credential rotation, cost awareness. Linux and shell comfort, and the ability to read code in a language you don't write daily. Nice to Have Elixir / Phoenix operations — Oban, releases, runtime config. You should be willing to read Elixir, not necessarily write it. Infrastructure as code (Terraform). HIPAA or comparable compliance work — access review, encryption, audit logging, incident response. Digital health, mental-wellness, or EdTech domain experience. Logistics Part-time contract, roughly 10 hours/week on an ongoing retainer. Fully remote — work from anywhere. We don't care where you are, as long as you overlap a few hours a day with US Eastern (EST/EDT) for collaboration. Some flexibility around production incidents and release windows — not formal on-call, but not strictly nine-to-five.
