Ecommerce Accountant / Bookkeeper (Shopify, Amazon, QuickBooks, Accrual Accounting)

We're looking for an experienced ecommerce accountant to establish and maintain accrual-based books for a growing Shopify brand. We already maintain cash-basis books for tax purposes. This role is focused on preparing and maintaining a separate accrual-based set of financials for management reporting. About the Business * Shopify DTC brand * Approximately $1–2M annual revenue run rate * Inventory-based business with fulfillment in the USA and Asia * QuickBooks Online * Cash-basis bookkeeping already in place Initial Project The first engagement will include: * Review our existing cash-basis books * Convert our existing financials to an accurate accrual basis * Reconcile inventory and cost of goods sold * Clean up the chart of accounts where necessary * Reconcile Shopify payouts, bank accounts, and credit cards * Identify and correct any accounting issues If we're a good fit, we'd like to continue with an ongoing monthly engagement. Ongoing Responsibilities * Maintain monthly accrual-based books * Prepare monthly accrual financial statements * Reconcile inventory and COGS * Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations * Identify and resolve accounting issues as they arise Required Experience Please apply only if you have experience with **inventory-based ecommerce businesses**.
