Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Product Data Analyst to help review, clean, and structure product data for our Shopify ecommerce store. Our company sells flags, banners, flagpoles, hardware, and related display products. The catalog includes many product types, variants, collections, tags, and legacy naming structures. We need help organizing this data into a cleaner, more consistent, and more scalable catalog structure. This project is suitable for someone with a background in statistics, data science, data analysis, or ecommerce data management. Project goals: • Review existing Shopify product and collection data • Identify inconsistent product names, tags, product types, and category logic • Analyze product groupings and recommend clearer ecommerce categories • Help organize products into a structured spreadsheet • Identify duplicate, outdated, empty, or unclear collections • Recommend a cleaner tagging and classification system • Support better product discoverability, filtering, and store navigation * Create clear documentation for how the catalog should be maintained going forward Ideal background: Data analysis, statistics, or data science education Strong spreadsheet skills Experience organizing messy datasets Ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and classification issues Interest in ecommerce, Shopify, product data, or catalog management Strong attention to detail Clear written communication Deliverables: Cleaned and organized product/category spreadsheet Recommended Shopify collection structure Product type and tag recommendations List of collections to keep, rename, merge, or remove Notes on inconsistencies, duplicates, and data quality issues Simple documentation for maintaining product data consistency This is a practical ecommerce data project focused on turning messy product and category information into a cleaner, more structured system. We are looking for someone analytical, organized, and comfortable working with product datasets.
