Editor / Beta Reader for a Psychological Thriller in Progress

I’m working on a psychological thriller titled Until You Listen. Act I is complete, and I have also drafted the first two chapters of Act II. The manuscript is still in progress, so I’m looking for an experienced fiction editor or beta reader who can assess the existing material and help me strengthen the foundation before I continue. The story is told in first person by a morally complex male narrator and explores obsession, emotional control, relationship breakdown, abduction, and captivity. What I need * Read the current manuscript of approximately 8000 words * Add thoughtful comments directly in the document * Provide a concise editorial report of approximately 2–5 pages * Evaluate structure, pacing, suspense, character psychology, dialogue, continuity, and chapter hooks * Identify plot holes, repetitive scenes, credibility issues, and moments that should be expanded, shortened, or removed * Suggest light line edits or alternative wording for passages that feel awkward or ineffective * Preserve my narrative voice rather than rewriting the story in a completely different style A thoughtful female-reader perspective would be especially valuable regarding Sara, the female lead, and the abduction and captivity sequences beginning in Act II. I want honest feedback on her psychological reactions, the power imbalance between the characters, and whether any passages feel unrealistic, unintentionally exploitative, overly sexualized, or emotionally unconvincing. This is not currently a full copyediting or proofreading project. The main goal is developmental feedback combined with selective corrections to important passages. There may be an opportunity for further work after the full manuscript is completed if we are a good fit. Please include in your proposal: 1.
