Electrical Engineer for Energy Systems

We are a small UK-based engineering company working on industrial energy systems, control systems, hazardous-area equipment, and bespoke engineering projects. We are looking for a capable Electrical Engineer to support our growing project workload. We need someone who can support the electrical design side of projects where electrical systems interface with mechanical equipment, control systems, instrumentation, industrial components, and customer technical documentation. This is not just a drafting role. We need someone who can think technically, understand system intent, and produce practical engineering outputs suitable for procurement, fabrication, client review, and technical approval. Typical Work Will Include The selected engineer may support with: Electrical single-line diagrams Electrical schematics Wiring and interconnection diagrams Cable schedules Gland schedules Instrument and I/O lists Junction box layouts Power and control wiring definition Industrial equipment integration Review of supplier datasheets and certificates Electrical input to control philosophy and cause-and-effect documents Technical documentation for engineering project packages Project Context Our projects may involve: Industrial energy systems Control panels and field instrumentation Gas turbine or microturbine-related systems Hybrid energy systems Battery, solar, generator, and auxiliary equipment integration Hazardous-area or ATEX-related components Junction boxes, glands, sensors, valves, fans, heaters, and detectors Engineering documentation for client review, fabrication, testing, and certification support Required Experience You should have strong experience in: Industrial electrical engineering Low-voltage power and control systems Electrical drawings and schematics Cable and wiring design Instrumentation and control interfaces Reading and interpreting supplier datasheets Producing clear engineering documentation Experience with hazardous-area, ATEX, IECEx, oil and gas, or industrial energy projects is highly desirable but not mandatory if you are technically strong and willing to learn.
