Electrical Engineer for Site Assessment
Worldwide
We are seeking an experienced electrical engineer to conduct a site assessment for a utility provider. The engineer will evaluate the site conditions and prepare a comprehensive report to be submitted to the utility provider. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to identify potential electrical issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in site assessments and a strong understanding of electrical systems. 1. Review the available site information, existing electrical-service information, utility records, site plans, and Tesla Supercharger equipment specifications. 2. Prepare a preliminary electrical single-line diagram showing the proposed electrical service and distribution arrangement required to support sixteen Tesla Supercharger units. 3. Prepare preliminary electrical load calculations identifying the anticipated connected load and electrical demand associated with the proposed charging equipment. 4. Prepare and submit the electrical service upgrade request and supporting documentation to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Engineering Department. 5. Coordinate with the assigned LADWP planner and engineering personnel to determine the feasibility of the requested electrical service size. 6. Review available LADWP information concerning utility capacity, service voltage, service size, transformer capacity, point of connection, and any potential utility infrastructure upgrades. 7. Respond to reasonable LADWP questions and requests for clarification relating to the initial service upgrade and feasibility request. 8. Provide recommendations to the client regarding available approaches to achieve the required electrical capacity. Recommendations may include alternative service sizes, phased charger installations, load-management systems, alternative distribution arrangements, or other practical approaches based on LADWP’s findings. 9. Communicate LADWP’s preliminary requirements and findings to the client so the next phase of project design, permitting, procurement, and construction can be evaluated.
