Electrical Estimator (Small Residential & Commercial)

Xlectrical is looking for a detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates for small residential and commercial projects. This is a per-project, fixed-price engagement — ideal for a professional who can turn plans and specs into clear, reliable estimates on a project-by-project basis. You'll review plans, perform material and labor takeoffs, and deliver a well-organized estimate we can quote from with confidence. What you'll do - Review electrical drawings, plans, and specifications for small residential and commercial projects - Perform accurate material and labor takeoffs (devices, fixtures, panels, wire, conduit, etc.) - Build clear, itemized cost estimates in Excel, including material, labor, and markup - Apply current market pricing and reasonable labor units - Flag missing information, assumptions, or potential scope gaps - Deliver a clean, easy-to-read estimate summary for each project What we're looking for - 2–5 years of hands-on electrical estimating experience (small residential and commercial) - Strong command of Excel (formulas, structured/itemized estimate sheets) - Solid understanding of electrical systems, materials, and installation labor - Ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications - Accuracy, attention to detail, and clear communication in English - Reliable turnaround and the ability to work independently Nice to have Familiarity with U.S. electrical codes (NEC) Experience with change orders and value engineering How to apply Please include a short summary of your electrical estimating experience (small residential and commercial).
