I am looking for an experienced employment lawyer based in India with strong knowledge of: West Bengal Shops & Establishments laws Indian employment and labour law Employment contracts and HR practices Employee termination and disciplinary matters Scope of Work I need a legal review of an employee's letter relating to their termination of employment. The objective is to assess: Whether the employee's legal arguments have merit. Whether the employer has any legal obligations under applicable laws in West Bengal (Kolkata), including the Shops & Establishments framework and other relevant legislation. Whether the employer is legally required to issue an Experience Letter, Relieving Letter, Service Certificate, or any other employment documents. Whether the employer's position is legally supportable based on the available facts. Any legal risks or potential exposure if the employee proceeds with legal action. Recommended response points and practical next steps for the employer. Deliverables Please provide: A written legal opinion (approximately 2–4 pages). Identification of the applicable laws and regulations. References to relevant statutory provisions and, where appropriate, case law. Any additional documents or evidence you would recommend obtaining before responding. Requirements Qualified lawyer licensed to practice in India. Demonstrated experience in Indian employment/labour law. Strong understanding of West Bengal employment regulations and the Shops & Establishments Act applicable in Kolkata.
