Event Host Coordinator Location: Remote / Hybrid (preference for EST or nearby time zones) Type: Part-time contractor Hours: Approximately 40-50 hours per month Compensation: Competitive fixed monthly retainer, based on experience About Us We are a global business networking events platform called Strive Networking that hosts in-person events in cities around the world. Our events bring professionals together to build meaningful connections, share opportunities, and grow their networks. We currently host between 3–8 events each week, with continued expansion planned across North America, Europe, and other international markets. Role Overview We’re looking for a highly organized and proactive Event Host Coordinator to lead the recruitment and coordination of event hosts for our weekly networking events. This person will be the primary owner of the host hiring process - from posting jobs and conducting interviews to onboarding hosts and supporting them through event day, as well as during the event itself. You’ll work closely with another team member for support, but you’ll take the lead on the majority of the workflow and communication. Key Responsibilities: Host Recruitment Create and post job listings for event host positions in various cities. Source candidates and manage incoming applications. Reach out to previous hosts to gauge interest in returning to work with us. Interviewing & Selection Conduct short virtual interviews (approximately 5–10 minutes each) with prospective hosts. Evaluate candidates for professionalism, communication skills, reliability, and event suitability. Make hiring recommendations and finalize host selections. Onboarding & Coordination Create group chats connecting hosts with internal team members and relevant event stakeholders. Send onboarding materials, event guides, and required materials to hosts. Follow up consistently to ensure hosts have received and reviewed all materials, and that they are still confirmed to attend the event. Tracking & Reporting Maintain an accurate hiring tracker and update candidate/host statuses in real time. Send daily status updates summarizing progress, outstanding tasks, and event readiness. Event-Day Support Remain in communication with hosts during live events to ensure operations are running smoothly. Help troubleshoot issues quickly and escalate concerns when needed. Availability Requirements Because our events take place across multiple regions, this role requires consistent availability during specific windows each week. Required Availability: Wednesdays, 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM EST (European city events) Wednesdays, 5:30 PM – 11:00 PM EST (U.S. and Canadian city events) You do not need to work continuously throughout these windows, but you must be reachable and available to support events occurring during that time. Nice-to-Have Availability: Wednesdays, 3:30 AM – 6:00 AM EST for occasional support of additional international events. You’ll also need flexible availability throughout the week to conduct candidate interviews and communicate with hosts. What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications Excellent spoken and written English communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple hiring pipelines and event timelines simultaneously. Reliable, proactive, and highly responsive communicator. Comfortable conducting virtual interviews and coordinating remote teams. Experience with spreadsheets, trackers, group chats, and general admin tools. Advanced ability to problem-solve Preferred Qualifications Experience in recruiting, hiring, event coordination, or operations management. Familiarity with networking events, hospitality, or community management. Based in the EST time zone or within a closely aligned time zone. What Success Looks Like In this role, success means consistently staffing events with reliable hosts, keeping communication seamless across all parties, and ensuring every event is fully prepared before it begins.
