Title Excel Estimating Workbook Overhaul (Construction – EV Civil/Electrical) Summary Civil/electrical contractor specializing in EV infrastructure (utility coordination, trench/civil, electrical). California C‑10 and General A, lots of prevailing wage work. We have a working “Master Bid” Excel workbook for open‑shop and PW projects. I need an expert to clean up and finish the model so it’s reliable and easy to maintain. This is not a formatting job – I need real construction estimating and cost‑modeling experience. Scope Tighten crew‑based labor and prevailing wage / burden logic Separate civil, utility, and electrical cost logic Implement simple risk / contingency / profit rules Build a clean Export tab (bid → budget for PM software) Build a basic Material Takeoff tab driven by the same quantities What “done” looks like Clear inputs / calcs / outputs Working flow: bid → summary/proposal → export → MTO No double‑entry; export and MTO pull from the estimate Short “how this model works” note for my team Requirements Built construction estimating models in Excel Understand contractor cost structure (direct vs indirect, burden, OH&P) Civil/utility/infrastructure experience (electrical a plus) Strong Excel formulas and structure Comfortable improving an existing workbook U.S. prevailing wage experience is a plus Engagement Total: 20–40 hours over a few weeks Time: part‑time (5–10 hours/week) Expert level; willing to pay for the right person How to apply Briefly describe similar models you’ve built Summarize your PW / labor burden experience Mention any work linking an estimate to a budget export or MTO in Excel Include your hourly rate and rough hours for a first pass
