Summary

We are looking for an experienced B2B cold caller to own our outbound calling program from end to end. This is a 20-hour-per-week contract position. You will build the call list, develop and test the script, make the calls, handle objections, log all activity, and deliver a weekly performance report. Your only goal is to book qualified 15-20-minute discovery calls between business owners and our founder. You are not expected to explain exit planning or close anything on the first call. You are expected to create enough curiosity and trust in 60 seconds that the prospect agrees to have a short conversation with our team. Who We Are: We are a business exit planning and business brokerage firm. We help service business owners sell their business, plan their business for exit and acquire a business. We work with owners who are ready to sell today and those who are one to five years from their exit. What You Will Be Responsible For: -Building and maintaining a targeted call list of service business owners using LinkedIn Sales Navigator and/or other prospecting tools -Drafting the initial cold call script and voicemail script based on our ICP, our firm positioning, and your experience with similar calls -Testing and iterating on the script based on live call data. You will revise the script weekly based on what you hear on the calls -Making outbound calls targeting a minimum of 80 to 100 dials per day during your active calling hours -Handling live objections in a professional, consultative manner that reflects the positioning of an advisory firm, not a transactional sales environment -Logging every call outcome in the provided tracking sheet: date, prospect name, company, dial outcome, conversation summary, and next step -Delivering a one-page weekly performance summary covering total dials, connect rate, conversations held, discovery calls booked, top objections heard, and script adjustments made -Participating in a 30-minute weekly check-in call with the founder to review performance and align on the following week's focus What We Are Looking For: 1. Minimum two years of B2B cold calling experience in professional services, financial services, business advisory, insurance, accounting, or a similarly high-trust environment. Consumer sales experience does not qualify. 2. Demonstrated experience building your own call lists, not just dialing from a list someone else provided 3. Experience writing, testing, and improving cold call scripts based on live call data, not just using scripts written by someone else 4. Ability to handle live objections conversationally and adjust in real time without returning to a script word for word 5. Strong verbal communication skills. Clear, professional, and confident on every call without sounding scripted or robotic. 6. Reliable availability during U.S. business hours, Monday through Friday, for a minimum of four hours of active calling time per day Nice to Have: -Prior experience calling business owners specifically, not just B2B contacts at large companies -Familiarity with business brokerage, M&A, exit planning, or business valuation concepts -Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator or a similar tool for prospect research and list building -Experience using JustCall, Apollo.io, or similar outbound calling and CRM tools -Experience working in a solo or startup environment where you set your own process rather than following an established playbook Additional Requirement: A brief description of your most relevant B2B calling experience, and a 60-second voice memo introducing yourself as if you were calling a business owner for the first time. A Note on This Role: We are a focused advisory firm, not a call center. The business owners we call have built their companies over 10 to 20 years and are thinking about the most significant financial decision of their careers. Every call should reflect that. We are looking for someone who understands the difference between selling and advising and who can represent our firm with the same level of professionalism we bring to every client relationship. If you have made calls in a high-volume, low-trust environment and are looking for something more consultative, this is a good fit. If you are most comfortable reading from a script and escalating objections to a manager, this is not the right role.
