Summary

We are looking for an experienced U.S. immigration paralegal or attorney with substantial EOIR asylum experience to provide paid one-on-one mentorship. This is not a case preparation position. The goal is to train an experienced immigration paralegal who wants to deepen their knowledge of defensive asylum before the Immigration Court (EOIR) through real-world examples and practical guidance. What I’m Looking For You should have hands-on experience preparing and filing EOIR asylum cases, including: * Defensive Asylum (Form I-589) * Removal Proceedings * Master Calendar Hearings * Individual (Merits) Hearings * Court filing procedures * Exhibit preparation * Country conditions evidence * Declarations and affidavits * Witness preparation * Filing deadlines and court practice * Trial strategy from a paralegal perspective What the Mentorship Should Include I’m looking for practical, real-life training rather than theoretical explanations. Ideally, we would review topics such as: * How you prepare an asylum case from intake through the merits hearing. * How you organize evidence. * How you prepare declarations. * How you build an exhibit packet. * Country conditions research. * Corroborating evidence. * Preparing witness packets. * EOIR filing requirements. * Common mistakes to avoid. * Attorney expectations for a strong asylum package. Whenever ethically permissible, I would like to review redacted real case examples, including: * I-589 packages * Attorney cover letters * Indexes * Exhibit lists * Redacted declarations * Country conditions packets * Witness statements * Court filings * Hearing preparation materials All confidential information must be completely removed or redacted.
