Experienced Video Editor/Fair Use Specialist (+AI Voice Over) for YouTube Channel (Economics)

Hey there! My name is Patrick. I’m looking for a skilled, reliable, and experienced YouTube Video Editor for a long-term English-language project in the economics, business, and society niche. The videos are generally between **8 and 10 minutes long**. This position is specifically for an editor who has strong experience with **fair-use-based content** and knows how to independently research and select the strongest, most relevant, and most engaging footage for every part of a script. ## What I’m looking for The ideal editor must be capable of researching and sourcing visual material from a wide range of sources, including: * Movies and television * News reports and broadcasts * Documentaries * Interviews and speeches * Websites and online publications * Publicly available video clips and images * Historical footage and images when relevant The videos mainly cover economics, business, cities, tourism, housing, social developments, and related topics. Historical events may occasionally be included, but they are not the main focus of the channel. You should be able to understand the script, identify its most important moments, and find footage that supports the narration as closely as possible. The selected footage should not only be technically relevant. It should also be visually strong, specific to the topic, emotionally engaging, and capable of maintaining viewer attention. Simply filling the video with generic stock footage is not enough. ## Fair use and research experience are essential You must have a strong understanding of: * Fair-use-based YouTube editing * Transformative use of third-party footage * Researching footage specifically for each script * Selecting appropriate clip lengths * Combining material from multiple sources * Using news, documentary, film, television, website, and image material effectively * Reducing unnecessary copyright risks * Creating documentary and commentary-style YouTube videos Please do not apply if you have no relevant experience with fair-use content, cannot independently research footage, or mainly rely on generic stock footage. ## Editing style The editing itself is relatively straightforward and does not require complex motion graphics or large amounts of animation. The main focus is on: * Strong and highly relevant footage * Detailed visual research * Good pacing * Clean storytelling * Visual variety * Accurate synchronization with the voice-over * Professional music and sound design * Maintaining viewer attention throughout the video Important numbers, statistics, dates, locations, and short text elements will be displayed using a predefined visual style. You will receive clear guidelines for how these elements should appear.
