Experienced Xero Bookkeeper for Australian SME (Ongoing Monthly Engagement)

About the role I'm the founder of Agentive Group, an AI automation consultancy based in Sydney, Australia. We're a small operation — currently a one-person Pty Ltd structure with project-based consulting revenue, with a second SaaS product (Scribekast.AI) launching shortly. I need a reliable, detail-oriented Xero bookkeeper to take ownership of my monthly bookkeeping function so I can focus on client work. What I need help with Monthly bank reconciliation across business accounts (single AUD account at present, potentially USD account added when Scribekast launches) Coding of transactions to the right chart-of-accounts categories (I'll provide context for anything ambiguous) Invoice management — sending invoices to clients, tracking receivables, and chasing overdue items politely on my behalf Bill entry and supplier payment scheduling (I'll approve outgoing payments) BAS preparation and lodgement each quarter Monthly P&L and cash position summary — 1-page snapshot, plain English, by the 10th of each month End-of-financial-year preparation — clean books handed to my accountant by mid-July What I'm looking for in a candidate Strong Xero proficiency — minimum 2+ years actively using Xero, ideally Xero Certified Advisor Australian compliance knowledge — GST, BAS, PAYG, STP, and Pty Ltd structures Clear written English — most of our communication will be async via Slack, email, or Upwork messages Proactive communication — flag issues early rather than waiting for me to ask Reliable monthly cadence — bookkeeping done by the 10th of each month, no slipping Experience with SaaS or service-business bookkeeping a plus — Stripe integration, multi-currency handling, deferred revenue recognition BAS Agent registration is mandatory Either you hold personal TPB registration as a BAS Agent (please include your registration number in your proposal), or you work under direct supervision of a registered BAS Agent firm with active TPB registration (please include the firm's name and TPB registration number, along with confirmation that lodgement will be done through the supervising agent). All BAS lodgements for my business must be made through a properly registered BAS Agent. I'll verify TPB registration on the public register before progressing any applicant.
