### About the Opportunity We're looking for an experienced Business Development Representative to help expand our freight brokerage by building professional relationships with prospective shipping customers. This is a relationship-driven role focused on identifying opportunities, engaging decision-makers, understanding business needs, and developing long-term customer relationships. We're looking for someone who is confident communicating with business owners, enjoys strategic outreach, and represents our company professionally. If you're someone who takes ownership, thinks proactively, and enjoys building genuine business relationships, we'd love to hear from you. ### Responsibilities - Research prospective shipping customers and identify qualified opportunities. - Conduct professional outbound outreach by phone, email, LinkedIn, and other appropriate business channels. - Build relationships with decision-makers through consultative conversations. - Learn about each prospect's business and transportation needs. - Maintain accurate CRM records and document outreach activities. - Organize and manage follow-up activities to maintain a healthy pipeline. - Collaborate with our team to continuously improve outreach strategies and business development processes. - Represent our company professionally and communicate clearly at every stage of the relationship. ### Preferred Qualifications We're particularly interested in candidates who have experience with: - B2B business development - Cold calling and outbound prospecting - Relationship management - Freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, or other B2B service industries (preferred but not required) - CRM platforms (GoHighLevel, HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar) - LinkedIn Sales Navigator or other prospecting tools Strong communication skills, professionalism, initiative, and the ability to build trust are highly valued. ### What We're Looking For The ideal candidate: - Communicates confidently and professionally. - Builds rapport naturally without relying on high-pressure sales tactics. - Enjoys learning about different businesses and industries. - Thinks strategically and contributes ideas for improving business development efforts. - Is organized, dependable, and consistent with follow-up. - Takes ownership of their work and enjoys contributing to a growing business. ### To Apply Please include: - A brief overview of your business development experience. - A business development project or client relationship you're particularly proud of and your role in it. - How you typically approach reaching the appropriate decision-maker within an organization. - How you would continue a conversation if a prospect shared they were already working with another provider.
