Expert YouTube Scriptwriter Needed (Cinematic Storytelling / Biographies)
Worldwide
Hey everyone! We’re Digicrunch LLC, and we're hunting for a top-tier storyteller to help us with a brand-new style of YouTube videos. We are making long-form biographical videos (around 20 to 40 minutes each) about real people's lives. But here is the catch: if your writing sounds like a Wikipedia article or a dry timeline, this isn't for you. We want these videos to feel like a movie or a psychological thriller. The Benchmark (Please Read Carefully): Our client is heavily inspired by a Spanish YouTube channel called Dieck Docks. This creator takes someone's life story and narrates it in a highly creative, engaging way. He acts almost like a psychologist dissecting a character in a movie. Instead of just listing facts, he’ll pull up a Twitch stream, read the lyrics to a song, and connect everything together so the story flows perfectly. We want to replicate this exact magic, but for an English-speaking audience. To really get what we mean, please turn on the English subtitles and watch these two reference videos. This is the exact vibe, pacing, and storytelling style we expect: Reference 1: https://youtu.be/E9sWkB1re4s?is=-SIBbLW_e_XAmcY1 Reference 2: https://youtu.be/XjEKYdTIjjI?is=O_Cfx7iKjgKmu_S_ What the day-to-day work looks like: Writing 20 to 40-minute scripts: These are deep dives. You need to know how to maintain tension, build curiosity, and keep a viewer hooked for half an hour. Rescuing boring drafts: We already have some research and rough scripts saved up from a previous writer, but honestly, they are too dry. You will use these old scripts to save yourself research time, but you'll need to completely rewrite them to make them entertaining. Connecting the dots: You'll need to figure out how to weave in pop culture references, social media clips, and real-life events into a cohesive, cinematic storyline. Who we are looking for: You write the way people actually talk. The script needs to flow effortlessly for our voiceover artist. You understand YouTube retention. You know exactly where to place a hook, when to speed up the pacing, and how to build up to a big moment. You actually care about the narrative. You aren't just telling us what happened; you are making us understand why it happened. How to Apply: We only want to work with writers who pay attention to detail. To apply, please send over: Links to 2 or 3 of your best long-form scripts or completed YouTube videos (Documentary, biography, or story-driven content is a huge plus). A quick test: Write a 2-3 sentence hook. Take a boring fact like "He started his YouTube channel in 2015 after dropping out of college" and rewrite it to sound like the intro to a movie. Your expected rate in USD for a 20 to 40-minute video script. Start your proposal by adding the word "Documentary" in the beginning so we know you have went through the complete description.
