FSQA Expert for US Food Companies

Summary

We're an AI company building tooling for mid-market food, beverage, supplement, and pet food manufacturers. We need an experienced FSQA professional to evaluate quality and food-safety documentation with a sharp, practiced eye — and to help shape how our product handles that documentation at scale. You've spent years inside (or consulting for) US-based food/beverage companies in a QA, QC, or food-safety role. You can look at a supplier's paperwork and instantly tell what's complete, what's missing, what's non-compliant, and what's a red flag. What you'll do: Review and assess QA/food-safety documents: CoAs, specs, allergen declarations, supplier questionnaires, certifications, HACCP/HARPC plans, regulatory records, traceability records, and third-party audit reports Judge document quality, completeness, and accuracy against US food-safety standards Flag inconsistencies, gaps, and compliance issues clearly and quickly Help translate real-world food-safety and compliance processes into product requirements — shaping how our AI collects, classifies, extracts from, and runs compliance workflows on these documents Required: 5+ years FSQA experience with US-based food and/or beverage companies Deep expertise in FSMA 204, food traceability requirements, supplier qualification, and food-safety documentation workflows Strong knowledge of audit reports, GFSI certifications (SQF, BRCGS, FSSC 22000), HACCP/HARPC programs, regulatory records, and supplier compliance requirements Hands-on experience managing and reviewing supplier documents: CoAs, specifications, allergen declarations, supplier questionnaires, certifications, and traceability records Heavy experience evaluating QA documentation (not just authoring it) Fast, precise, comfortable reviewing high document volume Reliable availability — 20 hrs/wk minimum, 30–40 preferred Nice to have: Experience across multiple categories (supplement, pet food, co-man) Background in supplier/vendor management or procurement QA Exposure to digitizing or systematizing food-safety document workflows Logistics: Remote, ongoing contract, US hours overlap preferred.
