Faceless Short-Form Video Editor + Social Media Manager

About the app: DockBook is an app for longshoremen and dock workers that tracks their shifts and calculates their pay. Dockworker pay is complicated: different shift types, overtime rules, weekend and holiday premiums, and DockBook does the math for them so they know exactly what they earned and can keep their own record of every shift. Who we are trying to reach: Dock workers and longshoremen, from brand new casuals trying to get dispatched all the way to registered veterans. West Coast ports (US and Canada). These are working people, not office workers, and the content has to speak their language: real worksite stuff, not polished corporate marketing. What I am trying to accomplish: Grow awareness of DockBook among dock workers and drive app downloads. Success looks like more of the right people finding the app, following the content, and installing it. This is a niche, tight-knit community, so authentic content that resonates with actual dock workers matters more than slick production. The content: I record raw footage on my phone and smart glasses from around the docks and worksite. Most of it is POV style, first-person, from my point of view working around the docks. I am not showing my face or speaking on camera at this stage, so the content needs to work without a presenter. That means the edits carry it: strong hooks, on-screen text and captions, pacing, music, and clever use of the POV footage to tell the story. Your job is to turn that raw POV footage into short-form video that dock workers actually stop and watch, then post it and grow the audience. Tone: authentic, down to earth, made for working people. It should feel like it comes from inside the industry, not from an ad agency. Faceless and no voiceover for now, so the storytelling has to come through editing, text, and footage. What you will do: Edit raw dock and worksite POV footage into scroll-stopping short-form video (vertical 9:16) for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts, roughly 1-2 posts per week Write captions and strong hooks that land with a dock worker audience Use on-screen text to carry the story, since there is no face or voiceover Schedule and post on a consistent cadence Basic community management (reply to comments and DMs) Create ad-ready versions of top-performing videos for my Meta ads (I manage the ad campaigns myself, you supply the creative) Bring content ideas and simple growth strategy You must be strong at BOTH editing and management. I am hiring one person, not a team, and I want the same person doing the edits and the posting. This is a real part-time role (roughly 6-10 hrs/week of actual work), paid as a flat monthly retainer. How I hire: Send me 2-3 real short-form vertical videos you've edited (faceless or text-driven preferred, not graphics or photo carousels). I'll pick based on that portfolio. First month is a working trial in practice: if it's not a fit either of us can end the contract early, no hard feelings. If you have made video ad creatives for Meta (Facebook/Instagram) ads, mention it, it is a plus but not required. Tell me which tools you use to edit and to schedule. Start your reply with the word DOCKS so I know you read this. Applications that do not start with DOCKS or do not include real short-form video samples will not be considered. Budget: $300/month, part-time.
