AI Feature Film Editor & Collaborator

Important: This is a collaborative filmmaking role—not a task-based editing job. If you're looking to simply receive footage, edit it, and move on, this project is probably not the right fit. I'm looking for someone who enjoys discussing scenes, solving creative problems together, recommending shots, refining story structure, and helping build a feature film one scene at a time. AI Feature Film Editor & Creative Post-Production Collaborator About the Project I am looking for a highly collaborative Feature Film Editor to partner with me on an ambitious AI-generated feature film. This is not a typical editing job. I am not looking for someone who simply edits footage. I am looking for a true creative collaborator who will work closely with me throughout the filmmaking journey—from the very first scene until the completed feature film. The finished film will run approximately 60 minutes and will be created entirely using AI-generated visuals. I will be responsible for generating the images and visual assets, while we collaborate to transform those assets into a compelling cinematic feature. This is a long-term creative partnership, not a one-time editing project. Who I'm Looking For I want someone who genuinely understands filmmaking, storytelling, and cinematic language. The ideal collaborator should be able to think creatively and contribute ideas that make the film stronger—not simply assemble clips on a timeline. You should be able to: Professionally edit both video and audio. Understand cinematic storytelling, pacing, emotion, and rhythm. Help organize AI-generated assets into a cohesive narrative. Recommend additional shots, transitions, inserts, reactions, or sequences when needed. Identify opportunities to improve scenes before they are finalized. Maintain continuity throughout the film. Communicate clearly, consistently, and professionally. Be patient, open-minded, and highly collaborative. Enjoy working directly with a director through every stage of post-production. Excellent communication is extremely important. I value someone who asks thoughtful questions, shares creative ideas, gives honest feedback, and enjoys solving creative challenges together. How We Will Work Rather than editing the entire movie at once, we will build it scene by scene. Each scene will follow this workflow: We discuss the purpose and emotion of the scene. I generate the AI images and visual assets. We review the material together. You recommend any additional shots or visual elements needed. I generate those additional assets. You edit the scene. We review it together. We make revisions until the scene is fully approved and locked. Once a scene is approved, we move on to the next scene. This process continues until the entire feature film has been completed. The goal is to build a great film one scene at a time instead of rushing through the entire project. What I Need From You I am looking for someone who can collaborate creatively by helping answer questions like: Does this scene feel emotionally authentic? Is the pacing working? Should we hold longer on this moment? Do we need another close-up? Would an establishing shot improve this sequence? Does the audience clearly understand what is happening? Are there better transitions that strengthen the story? What visual element is missing? Your creative input is just as important as your editing skills. Preferred Skills Experience with one or more of the following: DaVinci Resolve Adobe Premiere Pro Final Cut Pro Experience working with AI-generated visuals is a strong advantage but is not required if you have excellent cinematic instincts and are willing to learn the workflow. Deliverables The final deliverables will include: Professionally edited 60-minute feature film Audio editing and synchronization Music placement where appropriate Sound effects integration where appropriate Final color-consistent timeline Organized project files Final 4K high-resolution master export All project/source files upon completion Budget Total Budget: $1,000 USD Payments will be released based on completed and approved sections of the film. Milestone 1 – $300 Approximately one-third of the feature film completed (about 20 minutes) All scenes in this section approved and locked Milestone 2 – $300 Approximately two-thirds of the feature film completed (about 40 minutes) All scenes in this section approved and locked Milestone 3 – $400 Entire feature film completed Final revisions approved 4K master delivered Project files delivered When Applying Please include: Samples of your feature film, trailer, or cinematic editing work.
