Finance & Profitability Analyst (E-commerce)

No agencies. Individuals only. We're looking for an experienced e-commerce finance professional to help us understand exactly where our money is going, identify inefficiencies, and provide a clear picture of our true profitability. This is a part-time, project-based role focused on monthly and bi-weekly financial reviews across our e-commerce brands. What you'll do • Review and analyze our financial performance on a recurring basis • Build clear profit and loss (P&L) reporting • Identify hidden costs, margin leaks, and inefficiencies • Track profitability across products, channels, and markets • Analyze ad spend, COGS, shipping, fees, software costs, payroll, and overhead • Reconcile financial data from platforms such as Shopify, Meta, Google, payment processors, and accounting software • Provide actionable recommendations to improve profitability and cash flow • Create dashboards and reports that give management a clear view of business performance • Help establish accurate financial systems and reporting processes What we're looking for • Proven experience working with e-commerce or DTC brands • Strong understanding of e-commerce financials and unit economics • Experience building and analyzing P&Ls • Ability to identify profit leaks and optimization opportunities • Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills • Experience with Shopify, accounting platforms, and payment processors • Detail-oriented and able to communicate findings clearly What this is NOT • Not a bookkeeping role • Not a data entry role • Not a traditional accountant role focused solely on compliance We're looking for someone who can help us understand the numbers behind the business and provide clear recommendations to improve profitability.
