Financial Analyst -- Sage Intacct & Multi-System Reporting (Ongoing | Construction / Field Service) About the Company We're a Florida-based multi-entity services company operating across landscape maintenance, builder services, and commercial construction. We completed a major ERP implementation in early 2026, migrating from QuickBooks to Sage Intacct (accounting), BuildOps (field service management and timekeeping), and Sage Construction Management (SCM). We are now in stabilization and growth mode with a significant and growing need for financial analysis and reporting across all three systems. The accounting team is active and operationally mature. What we need now is someone who can take data out of our systems, make sense of it, and put it in front of the right people in a format they can act on. What We're Looking For We need an experienced financial analyst who is deeply comfortable in Sage Intacct and equally comfortable building clean, well-structured Excel models and reports. This is not a dashboard engineering role -- we need someone who thinks like a finance person first and uses the tools to support that thinking. You will work directly with our department and operations leaders across accounting, maintenance, and builder services. We have a large backlog of reporting needs to work through, and beyond that, an ongoing need to refine, improve, and automate our month-end close process. How We Work We operate on a simple engagement model: If a request will take less than 3 hours, just complete it and bill accordingly -- no approval needed. If you estimate it will take more than 3 hours, send us your time estimate before starting and wait for approval to proceed. Simple requests should be turned around within 2 business days. More complex deliverables should come with a realistic timeline communicated upfront. We're not looking to micromanage. We're looking for someone with the judgment to know the difference between a quick pull and a real project -- and the finance instincts to ask the right questions before building the wrong thing. Primary Responsibilities Produce financial reports and analysis from Sage Intacct across multiple entities and departments -- P&L, balance sheet, WIP, department-level variance, job cost summaries Build and maintain Excel-based reporting models, schedules, and analysis packages for operations and ownership review Support month-end close with structured, repeatable reporting that reduces manual effort over time Identify gaps in the close process and recommend improvements through better reporting automation Learn our BuildOps environment and assist with operational reporting via its native Sigma reporting tool (training and documentation will be provided -- aptitude and willingness matter more than prior experience) Help reconcile operational data (labor hours, inventory, job cost) between BuildOps and Sage Intacct when discrepancies arise Communicate proactively and collaborate asynchronously; written communication needs to be clear and professional Must-Have Qualifications Deep, hands-on Sage Intacct experience -- comfortable pulling and structuring data, working with dimensions, and navigating multi-entity setups Strong financial analysis background -- you understand how a construction or field service P&L is structured, what WIP is and why it matters, and how job costing flows through a GL Advanced Excel skills -- pivot tables, structured financial models, clean formatting for executive and operational audiences Experience supporting multi-entity or multi-department organizations Ability to self-manage within the engagement model above -- communicate proactively, don't disappear, and flag issues before they become problems Nice to Have Prior experience with BuildOps or similar field service platforms Familiarity with Sigma or embedded BI tools in operational platforms Construction or landscape/maintenance industry background Experience supporting organizations running parallel operational and accounting systems during a transition period Engagement Details Type: Ongoing contract Hours: Variable, estimated 10-40 hours/month to start, adjusting as the backlog is worked through Availability: Must be responsive and able to deliver simple requests within 2 business days Communication: Async-first via Upwork messages; occasional video check-ins as needed How to Apply Please include in your proposal: A specific example of financial analysis or reporting work you've done for a construction, field service, or multi-entity company -- what the business need was, what you built, and what decision or outcome it supported How you handle Sage Intacct reporting -- native report builder, data exports to Excel, or a combination Any experience with operational platforms and their embedded reporting tools (Sigma, Tableau, Power BI, etc.) Generic proposals will not be considered. We're looking for a long-term partner, not a vendor.
