Financial Controller/Accountant Support (Startup)

We’re looking for support as Finance Manager / Financial Controller who oversees our books, reconciliations, VAT, controls, reporting and accounting accuracy. We're aiming to replace our current accounting solution and are looking for someone who can help a startup grow and mature on the financial/accounting side. Responsibilities include bank reconciliations, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), payroll, expense and reimbursement management, bookkeeping, VAT returns, financial controls, month-end close and maintaining accurate records across Stripe, Xero, and tools like Dext. You will be responsible for both finance operations (FinOps) and accounting, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and scalable processes as the company grows. Startup experience, strong Xero knowledge and UK VAT experience are required.
