Who You Are We’re looking for an experienced Finance/Accounting Controller with real hands on experience in Accounting Seed and Salesforce to support client accounting engagements. This is not a Salesforce developer role and not a basic bookkeeping role. We need someone with a strong finance and accounting background who understands how accounting operations should run for growing SMB / lower middle market businesses. The right person can review month end close, AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, project accounting, inventory, purchasing, reporting, and Salesforce-based workflows. They should be able to identify what is broken, recommend practical improvements, and help leadership get cleaner, more reliable financial reporting. We’re looking for someone who can act as the controller-level accounting lead: reviewing processes, advising on improvements, guiding bookkeeping/accounting support, and joining client-facing calls when needed. Responsibilities -Review Accounting Seed and Salesforce accounting workflows -Evaluate month-end close, AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, financial reporting, and controls -Review project accounting, inventory, purchasing, service dispatch, and recurring contract workflows -Identify accounting process gaps, reporting issues, data problems, and manual workarounds -Recommend practical improvements to accounting operations, close processes, and reporting -Identify automation opportunities from an accounting/process perspective -Help create close checklists, monthly reporting packages, KPI dashboards, and workflow documentation -Support leadership-facing financial reporting and process improvement deliverables -Work with internal bookkeeping/accounting support as needed -Join client-facing calls when needed and explain accounting/system issues clearly Required Experience -Direct hands on experience with Accounting Seed -Strong working knowledge of Salesforce -Strong finance and accounting background -Controller, accounting manager, senior accountant, or senior accounting consultant experience -Experience supporting SMBs, owner-led businesses, or lower-middle-market companies -Experience owning or improving month-end close processes -Experience with financial reporting, AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and accounting controls -Ability to review accounting workflows and identify practical process improvements -Comfortable explaining accounting and system issues to non-technical stakeholders -Strong written and verbal english communication skills -Independent, self-directed work style Nice to Have -Active U.S. CPA license strongly preferred -Accounting Seed and/or Salesforce certifications preferred -Experience with project accounting, inventory management, purchasing, service dispatch, and/or recurring service contracts -Experience developing executive dashboards, KPI reports, monthly financial packages, close checklists, and process improvement roadmaps -Experience supporting service businesses, field service companies, recurring revenue businesses, or project-based businesses -Experience supporting companies where Salesforce is a core operating system If this sounds like you, we’d love to chat!
