Financial Planning for Millwork Business

About Us: We are a growing millwork and custom cabinetry business managing multiple concurrent residential and commercial projects. Our cash flow moves in project-based waves (deposits, milestones, retainers), and we want to transition from reactive bookkeeping to proactive, forward-looking financial planning. What We Need: We do not currently make monthly projections to guide our business decisions or back up our end-of-the-month reports. We need a high-level Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) consultant or Fractional CFO to provide a clear financial outlook, structure, and strategic direction so we know exactly where to focus to meet our growth goals. Key Responsibilities: Financial Modeling: Build rolling 30, 60, and 90-day cash flow and revenue projections based on our pipeline. Variance Analysis: Help us compare actual end-of-month results against projections to identify performance gaps. Profitability Analysis: Review our millwork project types to highlight our highest-margin work. Scenario Planning: Model "What-If" scenarios (e.g., forecasting the financial impact of expanding shop capacity vs. project delays). Monthly Strategy Sync: Participate in a monthly review call to advise on our financial direction. Requirements: Proven experience as a Fractional CFO, Controller, or FP&A Analyst. Background working with project-based, construction, or manufacturing models (millwork/cabinetry/ Stairs experience is a massive plus). Expertise in building clean, dynamic forecasting dashboards in Excel/Google Sheets using raw project data.
