Summary

Fractional CFO / Strategic Finance Partner — Boutique Spa & Hospitality Location: Remote Type: Fractional / Part-Time Contractor Industry: Luxury Spa & Hospitality Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and scope About the Role We’re looking for an exceptional Fractional CFO / Strategic Finance Partner to become the financial brain of our growing spa business. This is not a bookkeeping role. Our books are already being maintained. What we need is someone who can look at the numbers, understand what they are telling us, identify what isn’t working, and help us make smarter business decisions because of them. You’ll work closely with the owner to bring clarity to the financial picture of the business and help us move from reacting to the numbers to using the numbers to strategically run the company. The ideal person has a combination of CFO-level financial thinking, business strategy, operational understanding, and the ability to communicate complex financial information in a way that makes it actionable. What You’ll Do Own the financial picture. * Review our P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, payroll, expenses, revenue, and other financial reporting. * Identify trends, inconsistencies, inefficiencies, and financial risks. * Tell us where we’re overspending and, more importantly, why. * Identify where we’re leaving money on the table. * Help establish the financial KPIs that actually matter for a spa business. * Create a clear, recurring financial dashboard that gives ownership a real-time understanding of the health of the business. Turn numbers into decisions. We don’t just want reports. We want recommendations. You might look at our labor costs and say, “You’re spending too much on provider downtime; here’s the staffing model I’d recommend.” Or look at our service mix and say, “This service generates great revenue but your margin is significantly lower than it appears. Here’s what I’d change.” Or look at our retail, memberships, gift cards, payroll, pricing, or marketing spend and tell us where to focus next. You’ll help us answer questions like: * Where should we be spending more? * Where should we be spending less? * Which services are actually the most profitable? * What should our labor percentage be? * Are we staffing appropriately for demand? * Are our prices supporting the margins we need? * Where are operational inefficiencies costing us money? * What should our revenue targets be? * What does our business need to look like to support the next stage of growth? * When should we hire? * When should we invest? * Where should we cut? * What financial decisions will have the greatest impact on profitability? Strategic Business Partnership The right person will become a thought partner to the owner, not simply someone who sends financial reports. You’ll help us develop: * Annual and quarterly financial goals * Revenue and profitability targets * Budgets and forecasts * Cash-flow projections * Location-level financial analysis * Service and treatment profitability analysis * Labor and staffing models * Pricing strategy * Membership economics * Retail economics * Marketing ROI analysis * Break-even analysis * Growth and expansion models * Financial scenarios for major business decisions We want someone who can say: “Here’s what the numbers are telling us, here’s what I think we should do, and here’s what I would do if this were my business.” What We’re Looking For You are: * Extremely analytical and exceptionally clear with numbers * A strategic thinker who understands the connection between financial decisions and day-to-day operations * Comfortable digging into messy or imperfect financial data and making sense of it * Commercially minded — you understand that revenue is not the same thing as profitability * Comfortable challenging an owner’s assumptions when the numbers tell a different story * Able to communicate financial information without burying people in accounting jargon * Proactive rather than reactive * Curious about why the numbers look the way they do * Comfortable working in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment * Someone who enjoys building systems and creating clarity where there isn’t much yet Spa / Hospitality Experience Is a Major Plus We would love someone who understands the economics of spas, salons, hospitality, wellness, fitness, or other appointment-based service businesses. You understand that a spa has unique financial challenges: * Provider utilization and productivity * Paid downtime * Appointment capacity * Service-hour economics * Labor as a percentage of revenue * Tips and compensation structures * Room utilization * Cancellation/no-show revenue * Membership models * Retail margins * Gift cards and deferred revenue * Seasonality * Customer acquisition costs * Average ticket * Rebooking and retention * Location-level profitability You don’t need to know every aspect of our industry on day one, but you should be able to learn the business quickly and understand how its operational realities translate into financial performance. What Success Looks Like After working with you, the owner should be able to open the financial dashboard and immediately understand: “Here’s where we are. Here’s why we’re here. Here’s what’s working. Here’s what’s costing us money. Here’s what we need to change. And here’s what we should do next.” Within the first few months, we want to have significantly greater visibility into: * True profitability * Labor efficiency * Provider productivity * Location performance * Service profitability * Cash flow * Expense management * Revenue opportunities * Financial risks * Growth opportunities And ultimately, we want you to help us build a business that is not only growing, but becoming increasingly profitable, predictable, and financially sophisticated as it grows. The Ideal Candidate You might currently be: * A fractional CFO * CFO of a small or mid-sized business * CPA with strong operational/business strategy experience * Former CFO/controller who wants a more entrepreneurial portfolio * Finance leader with experience in multi-location service businesses * Strategic finance consultant Most importantly, you know the difference between reporting numbers and actually running a business with them. About Us We are a growing luxury spa business with an innovative concept in the wine and wellness space. We are entrepreneurial, ambitious, and continuing to build the infrastructure necessary to scale. We’re looking for someone who wants to help build that infrastructure with us — someone who can become a trusted financial partner to ownership and help take the business to its next level. This could be an ongoing fractional relationship for the right person, with the potential for the scope and responsibility to grow alongside the company. If you love numbers, but you’re even more interested in what the numbers can tell a business owner to do next, we’d love to hear from you. To Apply Please send: * Your resume or LinkedIn profile * A brief overview of your experience with fractional CFO or strategic finance work * Examples of businesses or industries you’ve worked with * Your experience with spas, salons, hospitality, wellness, or other service-based businesses * Your typical fractional CFO engagement structure and pricing * A brief explanation of how you would approach your first 30–60 days with a growing spa business
