Fractional Marketing Director (AI-Native) B2B/B2G SaaS
Worldwide
Fractional Marketing Director (AI-Native) Build and run AI-powered marketing systems that do the work of a full team — a senior, hands-on operator who owns strategy through execution and builds compounding pipeline in a complex, regulated, niche B2B/B2G SaaS market. About Diversys Diversys builds the software platform of record for regulated recycling programs across North America — extended producer responsibility (EPR), deposit-return, and material-stewardship programs. Government agencies, producer responsibility organizations, and stewardship operators run their programs on Diversys because it gives them operational control and audit-ready data in a market where the regulation only gets more complex. Our embedded AI analyst, vera™, lets program staff ask plain-language questions of their live program data — built on an AI architecture our security-conscious customers can trust. We’re a growing, Toronto-based B2B SaaS company selling into a well-defined market of a few hundred organizations, on multi-stakeholder, committee-driven buying cycles. Precision beats volume here — and that’s exactly how we’ve built our go-to-market. The role We’re hiring a fractional Marketing Director to own the entire marketing and product-marketing function — strategy through shipped work. You’ll report to the CEO and have one direct report: a fractional AI Producer/Orchestrator who runs content production, video, product demos, and our AI-agent fleet under your direction. Two things make this seat unusual. First, it’s genuinely AI-native. Your production engine is a producer plus a fleet of AI agents. Your leverage comes from directing and quality-assuring that system — not from managing a large team. Second, it’s hands-on product marketing. Your report is a producer, not a PMM — so the positioning, messaging, launch narratives, and enablement thinking are yours, personally. This is a player-coach seat. If you’ve moved fully into management and no longer want to do the craft, this isn’t the one. What you’ll own • The marketing plan, budget, and channel mix for a named-account B2B market — events, associations, ABM-style campaigns, content, and web over mass-market lead gen. • Positioning and messaging architecture: the umbrella value proposition, audience-specific frameworks, proof points, and claims discipline across every asset. • Launch and release narrative, positioning, and assets — a dedicated launch & events resource carries the execution and logistics against your plan. • The full sales-enablement and collateral stack — website, video program, interactive product demos, pitch decks, one-pagers, and battlecards — with your producer and AI fleet doing the production and you owning the briefs and the final quality bar. • Demand generation: campaigns, inbound, and nurture that generate and qualify interest for hand-off to Sales, which owns pipeline progression and closing. • Buyer and competitive insight our sales team actually uses: personas, buying-committee mapping, win/loss, and current battlecards. • The AI-native operating model — tooling, standards, and guardrails. You brief, review, and ship, holding a hard quality bar. Our buyers are cautious about AI, so generic AI-generated content is a negative trust signal in this market. We use AI for speed and scale, never as a substitute for human judgment and craft. • Playbooks. Codify what works into repeatable frameworks, prompts, and skills so the function gets more capable every quarter. What you bring • 10+ years in B2B marketing, with deep, demonstrable product-marketing craft — positioning and messaging work you can show, launches you’ve run, enablement sales teams actually loved. Broad marketing leadership matters; product-marketing excellence is essential. • Real AI-native practice. You run LLM and agentic workflows in your work today and can walk us through a live one. (Everyone claims this in 2026 — we’ll ask for receipts.) • Exceptional writing and editing. You’re the final quality and messaging gate for everything that ships. • Experience marketing into small, defined B2B markets with long, committee-driven buying cycles — enterprise SaaS, govtech, regulated industries, or similar — where credibility and relationships matter more than volume. • Comfort operating fractionally: fixed days, sharp priorities, and the judgment to know what not to do. • Bonus, not required: environmental services, recycling/EPR, public-sector, or other compliance-adjacent domain experience. • Oversight of fractional AI Producer. Works closely with Launch & Events resource, On-demand specialist bench and AI-agent fleet
