Freelance Xactimate Estimator — Water Damage (US Only) Contract | Part-Time | Remote | US-Based Only | $100/estimate About the role We're a busy water damage restoration company with a growing backlog of Xactimate estimates. Our in-house estimator is at capacity and we need a reliable freelance professional to help us keep up. We currently have a backlog of 30 projects You'll receive scope notes, photos, and job details from our team. Your job is to turn those into clean, accurate, complete Xactimate estimates that hold up with carriers. We review every estimate before submission, so accuracy and Xactimate line-item discipline matter more than speed alone. What you'll be doing Writing Xactimate estimates for residential and commercial water damage losses Working from scope notes, field photos, and moisture readings provided by our team Producing estimates that are complete, properly formatted, and carrier-ready Communicating proactively if a scope is unclear or needs clarification before writing Turning around estimates within agreed timelines (typically 24–48 hours per job) What we're looking for Must-haves: US-based — no exceptions Proven Xactimate proficiency (please specify your experience level in your application) Hands-on experience writing estimates for water damage / mitigation losses Familiarity with carrier expectations and Xactimate best practices for line-item documentation Reliable turnaround — you can commit to consistent volume and hit deadlines Strong written communication for back-and-forth on scope questions Nice to have: Background as an adjuster, public adjuster, or restoration estimator IICRC certification (WRT, ASD, or similar) Pay & volume $100 per completed estimate 15–30 estimates per week available — volume is consistent, not sporadic Payment processed through Upwork on the standard billing cycle How to apply In your proposal, please include: A brief overview of your Xactimate experience and the types of losses you've written Approximately how many estimates you can commit to per week A sample estimate or two if you have them (PDFs are fine — redact any sensitive info) Your typical turnaround time from receiving scope notes to delivering the estimate We move quickly — if you're a strong fit we'll be in touch within 1 business day.
