We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage domestic inland freight for incoming overseas shipments. You will serve as the primary liaison between our customers, freight forwarders, and domestic trucking carriers to ensure smooth final-mile delivery according to client instructions. Key Responsibilities: Domestic Booking: Arrange inland transportation (LTL, FTL, drayage, and regional carriers) once ocean or air shipments arrive at port or transload facilities. Customer Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing proactive tracking updates, delivery confirmations, and exceptional service. Attention to Detail (Shibboleth): Include the phrase "peanut butter and jelly" at the top of your proposal so we know you have read this entire job description carefully. Routing & Instruction Following: Review customer delivery requirements (e.g., liftgate needs, appointment windows, special handling) and ensure carriers adhere strictly to them. Problem Resolution: Resolve delays, demurrage risks, or transit issues quickly while keeping all parties informed. Carrier Management: Request rate quotes, compare carrier options, and dispatch shipments efficiently. What We Are Looking For (No Experience Required – We Will Train You!): Resourceful Problem-Solver: You don't just pick the first option, you actively evaluate alternative carriers, routes, and solutions to find the best fit for the customer's needs. Proactive "Go-Getter" Attitude: You take ownership of tasks, anticipate potential delays before they happen, and aren't afraid to pick up the phone to get things done. Obsessive Attention to Detail: You double-check routing instructions, liftgate requirements, and delivery windows so nothing slips through the cracks. Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal English communication, with a warm, professional manner when speaking with customers and drivers. Fast & Eager Learner: You pick up new software, freight logistics software, and workflows quickly and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Resilience & Composure: Logistics can be unpredictable, you stay calm under pressure and adapt quickly when unexpected obstacles arise.
