Full-Cycle Bookkeeper for US SaaS Company (QuickBooks Online, Stripe, GAAP)
Worldwide
Foundry Connects, Inc. | Delaware S-Corporation | Founder-led, bootstrapped Read this first I have hired for this seat twice and it did not work out twice. Both times the person was capable and both times they were carrying too much other work. Books slipped, responses stopped, and unwinding it cost more than the engagement saved. So this post is written to filter hard and fast. Four items below are required in your application. Applications missing any of them will not be reviewed, regardless of how strong the rest is. That is not a bluff and it is not personal. It is the only way I get to a real conversation quickly. About the company Foundry Connects is a mobile-first, fully bilingual field service management platform for independent contractors. We launched commercially in June 2026 on two subscription tiers. We are bootstrapped and founder-led, with no outside investors and no board reporting requirements. This is not a fundraising or investor-metrics role. It is a clean books and clean close role. What the role actually is Ongoing monthly bookkeeping, working directly with me. Roughly 5 to 8 hours per week once the initial cleanup is behind us, concentrated around close. What you would own in month one: Reconciling three separate Stripe flows: subscription billing, homeowner checkout, and contractor payouts through Stripe Connect. Gross versus net, processing fees, refunds, chargebacks, and payout timing differences. Deferred revenue and subscription recognition in QuickBooks Online for monthly and annual plans. Correct treatment and documentation of founder capital that was funded personally and moved into the business. Contractor payment documentation across four countries, structured so year-end reporting is straightforward. Monthly close on a fixed calendar with financial statements I can read and a CPA can file from without rework. What this role does not include: entity elections, shareholder basis, tax returns, equity structuring, or legal matters. Those sit with my CPA and my counsel. Your job is to make sure the records supporting their work are complete and accurate. Required in your application Include all four. No exceptions. 1. Your credential, stated plainly. If you are a US CPA, give me the issuing state board and your license number. If you are an Indian Chartered Accountant, an ACCA, a Certified Bookkeeper, or hold no formal credential, just say so. Every one of those can do this job. What I am screening for is precision, because precision is the entire job. Do not write "CPA equivalent." 2. Your current capacity. How many active clients do you have right now, across all platforms and off-platform, and how many hours per week are genuinely uncommitted. If you run or work for a firm or agency, say so and tell me who would actually touch my ledger. I am not screening firms out. I am screening out finding out later. 3. Your response commitment, in Eastern time. State the window you will hold to for time-sensitive messages. I am in US Eastern. Convert it yourself. 4. One SaaS or subscription engagement, described specifically. Company stage, revenue range, what you personally owned, and how long it ran. Client confidentiality does not prevent this. "A 2M ARR B2B SaaS company, 18 months, I owned monthly close and deferred revenue" identifies nobody. Screening questions Answer these in the same message. Short and specific beats long and general. Walk me through the most recent Stripe reconciliation you completed. What was the problem and how did you resolve it? A customer is charged for an annual subscription on the 3rd and requests a full refund on the 20th. Walk me through the entries We pay contractors in four countries. What documentation do you require from each before the first payment, and how does year-end reporting differ for foreign versus domestic contractors? Two clients need you the same afternoon and both have a close deadline. Whose work slips, and how did you decide? Describe your actual process, not your intentions. What is your rate, and does it change after the first year? How this goes from here You apply with the four required items and the five answers. Call leads to a paid trial month with a defined close deliverable and a fixed date. What ends it immediately Any of the four required items missing. A templated proposal that could have been sent to any job posting. An agency submission where the person I interview is not contractually the person doing the work. Credentials described imprecisely, or experience figures that do not match your public profile. Logistics Long-term ongoing engagement. Remote. Overlap with US Eastern business hours preferred but not required if the response commitment is real. QuickBooks Online is the system of record. Thanks for reading all of it. If you made it this far, you are already most of the way through the filter. Eric Founder, Foundry Connects
