GA4 Digital Analyst: Performance, Funnels & Tracking Audits (Ongoing Potential)

About the role We're looking for a sharp digital analyst to work with us on an ad hoc basis to start and to give more work over time as we build a strong working relationship. You'll help us uncover opportunities and issues for clients through deep performance analysis, audits, and event tracking work. This role suits someone who doesn't just report numbers but digs into the "why." If you spot something odd, we want you to investigate it, not only flag it. If something's broken, we want you to fix it and let us know. What you might do (work varies from task to task) - Performance and funnel analysis in GA4 to surface insights, opportunities, and problems - Audit event tracking: understand what's currently tracked, identify gaps, and recommend new tracking - Follow through from tracking recommendations into report and dashboard building - Diagnose tag issues: confirm whether tags and events are firing correctly, and troubleshoot when they're not - Conduct site audits, heuristic analysis, and competitor analysis - Produce clear, high-quality documentation and reports Must-haves - Strong, demonstrable GA4 expertise. This is the core of the role - Excellent analytical skills, especially performance and funnel analysis - Ability to diagnose whether tags and events are firing, and troubleshoot issues (building tags is a plus, not a requirement) - Proactive and fast to respond. You take initiative and follow through without being chased - Strong written and verbal English - Ability to create clear, well structured documents and reports Nice-to-haves - Experience with behavioural analytics tools such as Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, Contentsquare, and FullStory Experience building tags (e.g. in Google Tag Manager) Logistics - We're based in Sydney (Australia), [AEST/AEDT]). You'll need to be available by early afternoon our time (around 1pm to 2pm AEST/AEDT). Starting with ad hoc projects, with real potential to grow into regular, ongoing work.
