Government Audit RFP Specialist – Research, Proposal Writing & Submission

We are an established CPA firm seeking an experienced professional to manage the complete governmental audit RFP process—from identifying suitable opportunities through preparing and submitting high-quality proposals. This is a long-term opportunity for the right person. Our firm has extensive experience with nonprofit financial statement audits, Single Audits under Uniform Guidance, Yellow Book engagements, and organizations receiving federal grants. Our audit team has the capacity and GASB knowledge to perform governmental audits. However, as we expand into the governmental audit market, we need opportunities that do not require the CPA firm to have previous governmental audit engagements or multiple government-specific references. Responsibilities - Search procurement websites, bid portals, and other reliable sources for governmental audit RFPs. - Target appropriately sized entities, including: - Small cities and towns - Housing authorities - Utility, water, and sewer districts - Park and recreation districts - Other small special-purpose districts and local government entities - Carefully evaluate each RFP to confirm that prior governmental audit experience or government-specific references are not mandatory. - Recommend only opportunities that are realistic, appropriately sized, and a strong match for our firm. - Create and maintain an organized RFP tracker with deadlines, requirements, source links, and status updates. - Prepare complete, customized, and professional proposals that directly address every RFP requirement. - Coordinate with our team to collect resumes, references, licenses, pricing, forms, and supporting documents. - Complete required forms, compliance checklists, cover letters, questionnaires, and proposal attachments. - Proofread and format each submission to ensure accuracy, consistency, and professional presentation. - Submit proposals through online portals or prepare final email or physical submission packages. - Confirm successful submission and maintain organized copies of all proposal documents. - Monitor follow-up communications, interview requests, addenda, and award updates. Ideal Candidate - Demonstrated experience researching and responding to government RFPs. - Strong proposal-writing experience, preferably for CPA firms, audit firms, or professional services. - Familiarity with governmental financial audits, GASB, Yellow Book, Uniform Guidance, and Single Audits. - Experience using government procurement websites and electronic bid-submission portals. - Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex submission instructions. - Strong project management, writing, formatting, and communication skills. - Ability to manage several opportunities and deadlines without missing requirements.
