Government Contract Researcher & Proposal Writer

I’m looking for an experienced government contracts and grants specialist who can support me on an ongoing, month-to-month basis. Your primary responsibility will be to source relevant federal, state, and local contract opportunities, especially those aligned with my organization’s work in tech, entrepreneurship, training/education, and entertainment. Each month, you’ll deliver a curated shortlist of contracts and grants, collaborate with me to select the best fits, and then prepare high-quality proposals for submission. In addition to ongoing monthly support, I also have an immediate short-term project: a focused research sprint to identify government entertainment contracts—including opportunities for musicians, comedians, speakers, or performers to provide services to federal agencies or the U.S. military (e.g., USO-style programming). This initial search will help us determine existing demand, budgets, and contract scope. Responsibilities • Conduct monthly searches for relevant government contracts and grants (SAM.gov, state portals, agencies, etc.) • Deliver a monthly shortlist of the highest-potential opportunities • Prepare proposal drafts, applications, scopes of work, and supporting materials • Manage deadlines and maintain an organized pipeline of opportunities • Immediate task: Perform a rapid research scan for entertainment-related government contracts currently available Ideal Candidate • Strong experience with SAM.gov, federal acquisitions, grant portals, and proposal writing • Excellent research and communication skills • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate on opportunity selection • Familiarity with entertainment industry contracts (bonus, not required)
