Summary

We are seeking a healthcare or biotechnology professional—ideally a business owner, consultant, researcher, clinician, or team leader—to mentor a group of high school students as they work on a real project for your organization. Students will spend four weeks tackling a business challenge, initiative, or project that you'd like completed but haven't had the bandwidth to prioritize. The goal is to provide your organization with fresh perspectives, research, analysis, and actionable recommendations while giving students exposure to real-world healthcare and life sciences challenges. This is a low-lift opportunity designed for busy professionals. The Work-Based Learning Alliance (WBLA) manages the entire student experience, including project scoping, internship structure, meeting agendas, milestones, student support, and stipend payment. Your role is simply to share your expertise, meet with students for one hour each Monday via Zoom (between either 9:30am–12:30pm ET or 3:30pm–6:30pm ET), and provide feedback on weekly deliverables. Total time commitment is approximately 2–3 hours per week over four weeks commencing June 29. Professionals who are excited to develop future talent while receiving meaningful insights and deliverables for their organization are encouraged to apply. Projects could include: -Market research on healthcare, biotech, medtech, or life sciences trends -Competitive analysis of products, services, or treatment solutions -Process improvement and implementation planning for clinical, operational, or research workflows -Patient, customer, or stakeholder journey analysis -Research into emerging technologies, regulations, or industry best practices -Marketing and communications assets for products, services, or programs Key skills include: -Knowledge of healthcare, biotechnology, life sciences, medtech, or related industries -Ability to mentor and provide constructive feedback -Strong communication and interpersonal skills -Experience leading projects, teams, programs, research, or business initiatives
