**Healthcare Compliance Consultant (Joint Commission & Texas Medical Compliance) – Remote Contract** OVERVIEW We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Compliance Consultant to assist an established medical practice with ongoing regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, policy review, and operational compliance assessment. Our organization is currently accredited and has successfully maintained accreditation standards. Following recent leadership changes, we are seeking an independent expert to review our compliance programs, identify gaps, verify continued compliance, and help ensure we remain prepared for future surveys, audits, and accreditation reviews. This is a remote contract position. Candidates located within the United States are strongly preferred. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES We are looking for a consultant who can function as an independent compliance reviewer and accreditation readiness advisor by: * Conducting a comprehensive mock accreditation survey and compliance audit * Giving suggestions and feedback on the company's internal audit checklist as it relates to medical compliance * Evaluating our current state of readiness for future accreditation reviews * Reviewing existing compliance policies, procedures, and documentation * Assessing operational compliance practices and leadership oversight processes * Reviewing our internal audit tools, audit checklists, and monitoring processes * Identifying deficiencies, gaps, or blind spots within our current compliance program * Recommending improvements to strengthen ongoing compliance monitoring * Developing practical corrective action recommendations and implementation priorities * Helping leadership establish a sustainable compliance review framework SCOPE OF WORK The selected consultant will: * Review existing compliance policies and procedures * Assess current operational compliance practices * Evaluate readiness for future accreditation surveys and audits * Perform a mock survey/mock audit using applicable accreditation standards * Review internal audit checklists for completeness, accuracy, and effectiveness * Identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions * Evaluate employee training and compliance documentation processes * Review quality assurance and performance improvement activities * Assess leadership and governance oversight of compliance activities * Provide a written findings report with prioritized recommendations * Assist with policy updates and documentation improvements as needed PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Candidates should have experience with one or more of the following: * Joint Commission accreditation and survey preparation (Mandatory) * Healthcare compliance consulting * Ambulatory surgery centers, office-based surgical facilities, or physician practices * Texas healthcare regulatory requirements * HIPAA privacy and security compliance * OSHA compliance in healthcare environments * Quality assurance and performance improvement programs * Healthcare risk management * Internal compliance auditing and mock survey execution DELIVERABLES We anticipate the consultant will provide: * Compliance readiness assessment * Mock audit/survey findings report * Gap analysis * Evaluation of existing audit checklists and monitoring tools * Corrective action recommendations * Prioritized compliance improvement roadmap * Recommendations for ongoing internal audit processes ENGAGEMENT * Initial compliance assessment and mock audit project * Potential ongoing advisory relationship * Flexible schedule * Estimated 5–10 hours per week during the assessment phase TO APPLY Please include: 1.
