High-Temperature Mechanical Design & FEA Consultant
Worldwide
We are seeking an expert High-Temperature Mechanical Design Consultant to perform thermal-structural analysis and engineering validation for a specialized high-temperature, vacuum-rated process system. This is a focused, project-based contract. You will work directly with our engineering team to analyze our current design parameters, run necessary simulations, and provide concrete mechanical specifications to ensure structural integrity, sealing, and thermal accommodation. Scope of Work Thermal Expansion & Accommodation: Analyze thermal expansion/contraction profiles and design mitigation strategies (expansion joints, sliding/guided supports, anchoring layouts). Combined Stress FEA: Perform stress analysis under combined thermal, mechanical, and vacuum loading to identify potential failure points and validate safety margins. Material Selection & Life Estimation: Recommend/validate materials optimized for high-temperature service focusing on creep, oxidation, and fatigue resistance. Provide fatigue/creep life estimation for cyclic operations. Joints & Sealing: Design/specify welding joint configurations and high-temperature flange, gasket, and seal assemblies. Key Deliverables FEA & Analytical Report: Stress, thermal, deformation plots, and fatigue/creep life estimations under combined loading. Engineering Specifications: Clear design directives, material recommendations, joint details, and sealing specifications for our team to implement. Required Qualifications Deep expertise in high-temperature equipment, pressure vessel, or piping design (ASME Section VIII, ASME B31.3, EN 13445, or equivalent codes). Advanced Finite Element Analysis (FEA) capabilities (specifically coupled thermal-structural-vacuum loading). Strong background in metallurgy and material behavior at extreme temperatures (creep, fatigue, oxidation). How to Apply Please submit a brief proposal detailing: Your experience with high-temperature thermal/structural design. The FEA software you plan to use for this analysis. 1–2 examples of similar high-temperature analyses you have previously delivered. (Note: We are ready to share simplified model details and parameters under a standard NDA.)
