Title: Instructional Designer and E-Learning Developer Needed to Build a Complete 40-Hour Spanish Medical Interpreter Course I am seeking an experienced instructional designer and e-learning developer to help create a complete, professional 40-hour Spanish–English medical interpreter training program. This is not a request for basic video editing or simply placing existing videos into an LMS. I need someone who can help transform course content into a structured, interactive, engaging, and technically complete online learning experience. The finished course should prepare bilingual learners to understand the role, ethics, standards, terminology, and practical skills involved in medical interpreting. It should include meaningful opportunities to practice interpreting between Spanish and English. Project Goal: At the end of this project, I want to receive a finished, portable course package that I own and can upload to the course-hosting platform of my choice. The course should not remain dependent on the freelancer’s private accounts, software subscriptions, or agency platform. I must receive all editable files, original project files, media files, assessment files, and LMS-ready exports. Primary Scope of Work: 1. Course Architecture • Review the course objectives and available content • Recommend a logical curriculum and module structure • Create a detailed course outline showing how the program will provide approximately 40 instructional hours • Develop measurable learning objectives for each module • Create a learner progression plan from foundational knowledge to interpreting practice • Identify which lessons should use video, narration, reading, demonstrations, practice, quizzes, or simulations • Create a course map connecting objectives, activities, assessments, and estimated instructional time 2. Instructional Design The course should cover appropriate topics such as: • Role and responsibilities of the medical interpreter • Interpreter ethics and professional conduct • Confidentiality and patient privacy • Accuracy, completeness, and impartiality • First-person interpreting • Positioning and management of the interpreted encounter • The interpreter’s appropriate modes of intervention • Cultural awareness and cultural responsiveness • Healthcare-system navigation • Medical terminology, anatomy, and common diagnoses • Medication and pharmacy terminology • Consecutive interpreting • Simultaneous interpreting when appropriate • Sight translation • Note-taking and memory-development techniques • Managing difficult or emotionally sensitive encounters • Working with pediatric, obstetric, behavioral-health, emergency, and end-of-life situations • Remote video and telephone interpreting • Interpreter self-care and professional boundaries • Preparation for real-world Spanish–English medical encounters The final scope and curriculum must be based on the requirements and standards we identify for the intended training program. Upon final payment, I must own the custom curriculum, scripts, designs, interactive components, assessments, recordings, videos, and other original materials created specifically for this project. I must receive all editable source files—not only published or exported files. The freelancer may not use copyrighted materials from another course, training company, certification organization, textbook, or instructor without written permission. All third-party materials must be properly licensed and disclosed before use. The finished course cannot depend permanently on an account owned by the freelancer. I must be able to host, sell, edit, and update the course independently after the project ends. Project Process: I expect this project to be completed in milestones rather than built entirely before review. Suggested milestones include: 1. Discovery, standards research, and course plan 2.
