USTA North Carolina is seeking an experienced freelance web developer with deep expertise in HubSpot CMS to lead the technical redevelopment of our digital presence. This project involves translating a newly established website strategy into a modern, mobile-first, and user-centric experience. The ideal partner will provide both technical development execution and strategic, platform-specific recommendations to optimize program discoverability, user pathways, and audience engagement, while leveraging USTA North Carolina's existing brand standards, visual identity, and website strategy. Scope of Project & Deliverables The selected contractor will serve as both a technical implementation partner and HubSpot CMS subject matter expert, collaborating with USTA NC's marketing team to refine, develop, test, and launch a consolidated website while recommending platform best practices throughout the project. 1.) Architecture, Navigation, & UX Execution • Audience Pathways: Build a streamlined site architecture with intuitive navigation tailored to specific audience pathways (New Players, Competitive Players, Social Players, Parents, Coaches, Providers, Volunteers, Officials, etc.) • Conversion Optimization: Implement clear, responsive user journeys and conversion-focused calls-to-action (CTAs) that drive program participation, including configuring and testing lead capture forms and integrations between the website and HubSpot CRM where appropriate 2.) Technical Development & Customizations • Theme Architecture: Customize, extend, and optimize the CLEAN Pro theme environment • Component Creation: Develop robust, reusable custom HubSpot modules and flexible page templates for the internal marketing team to manage post-launch • Responsive Design: Ensure mobile-first responsiveness and cross-browser performance 3.) Multi-Site Content Migration & Optimization • Consolidation Support: Assist in the technical migration, restructuring, and URL redirect planning of three legacy websites: nctennis.com, nctennisfoundation.com, and trytennis.net • Technical Standards: Optimize all page templates for technical SEO, AEO, performance scaling, and WCAG accessibility compliance 4.) Documentation & Knowledge Transfer • Training Documentation: Develop clear documentation and user guides covering page creation, module usage, common content management tasks, and website maintenance for internal staff • Knowledge Transfer: Conduct one or more training sessions with the USTA NC marketing team to ensure staff can confidently manage and maintain the website after launch 5.) Deployment & QA • Testing: Lead cross-device QA testing, bug remediation, and pre-launch technical checklists • Collaboration: Partner closely with the USTA NC marketing team through regular progress updates, design reviews, technical consultations, launch coordination, and post-launch knowledge transfer Qualifications Required • HubSpot Expertise: Proven portfolio of custom website development exclusively within HubSpot CMS • Theme Ecosystems: Direct experience modifying and extending the CLEAN Pro theme or equivalent modular frameworks • Migration Experience: Demonstrated success managing multi-domain content migrations • Standards Compliance: Deep understanding of responsive design, technical SEO, and accessibility (WCAG) guidelines Preferred • Experience working with sports organizations, nonprofits, or membership-based associations • Familiarity with the broader HubSpot ecosystem (CRM segmentation, smart content, workflows, and marketing automation) • Experience creating technical documentation, training materials, or conducting client handoff sessions for CMS implementations Application Requirements Please submit the following for consideration: 1.)
