Summary

Import Tariff / HTS Code Specialist Needed to Review Overseas Orders Into the United States **Description:** We are looking for an import tariff specialist who can review overseas orders being imported into the United States and help us make sure we are not overpaying tariffs, duties, or customs-related charges. We have products coming in from overseas to the United States and need someone who can review the import documents before we pay duties or approve broker charges. Your main job will be to check: * Whether the HTS / tariff code being used is correct * Whether the duty rate being applied is correct for U.S. imports * Whether the country of origin is being handled correctly * Whether the declared value looks correct * Whether the customs broker or freight forwarder is charging the correct amount * Whether there is any risk that we are overpaying tariffs This is not a general logistics role. We specifically need someone who understands U.S. import duties, HTS classification, tariff calculations, customs broker invoices, and how to identify overpayment risk. For each order, we would send you the relevant documents, such as invoices, product descriptions, packing lists, broker estimates, or customs documents. You would review them and tell us whether the tariff charges look correct or if anything should be questioned or corrected. **Ideal candidate has experience with:** * U.S. imports * HTS code classification * Customs duty review * Import tariff calculations * Commercial invoice review * Customs broker invoice review * Imports from China or other overseas suppliers into the United States * Hardware, electronics, components, batteries, or consumer products **To apply, please answer the following questions on video:** 1. How do you verify whether an HTS code is correct for a product being imported into the United States? 2. What documents would you need from us to review an import order? 3. Have you ever helped a company avoid overpaying tariffs or duties? If yes, briefly explain. 4. Are you familiar with reviewing U.S. import duties and customs broker charges? This will likely be an ongoing on-demand role whenever we have overseas orders to review.
