Industrial Designer — Custom Children's Styling Doll Head (Rooted Afro-Textured Hair)

CrownKit (www.MyCrownKit) is a children's DTC brand designed to celebrate naturally textured hair. We're developing our next-generation proprietary doll head: a custom sculpt with rooted, afro-textured hair that is manufacturer-ready. We need an industrial designer (or a design team) who can take this from concept brief to a complete, factory-ready deliverable. This is a paid project with IP assignment — you will not retain rights to the design. What you'll deliver Concept sketches and reference alignment (based on character briefs we provide) Organic sculpt (ZBrush or equivalent) with character-accurate facial features Parametric CAD (SolidWorks or Fusion 360) optimized for injection molding — wall thickness, draft angles, parting lines, tolerances Full native files + STEP/IGES + dimensioned drawing package suitable for tooling Design documentation sufficient for a manufacturer to quote and tool from Must-haves - Portfolio showing toy, doll, or figure design that reached physical manufacturing - Fluency in both organic sculpting (ZBrush or equivalent) and parametric CAD (SolidWorks or Fusion 360), or a clear workflow that bridges both - Proven DFM experience for injection-molded consumer products - Prior experience with rooted-hair doll or styling-head products — this is the hardest requirement to fake, so please be specific in your application about where this shows up in your background - Comfortable working under NDA and executing a full IP assignment agreement Nice-to-haves Existing factory or tooling relationships Experience with fiber/weft selection for doll rooting Familiarity with CPSIA toy safety standards To apply, please include: Portfolio or direct links to manufactured toy/doll work Any examples that specifically involve rooted-hair products Your rate range and estimated timeline
