Industrial Electrical Engineer – Control Panel Design (Canada & USA Standards)

We are looking for an experienced Industrial Electrical Engineer to assist with the design and review of industrial control panels for concrete batching plants and other industrial automation equipment. This is a long-term opportunity for the right candidate. We are looking for someone who can become part of our engineering team and assist with projects as needed. Responsibilities Design industrial control panels operating at 600V, 480V, and 120V Produce complete electrical drawing packages including: Single-line diagrams Schematic diagrams Panel layouts Wiring diagrams Terminal schedules I/O drawings Bill of Materials (BOM) Perform component selection and sizing Design motor control circuits using contactors, overloads, VFDs, breakers, transformers, relays, and safety devices Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes and industry standards Review existing drawings and provide design improvements Coordinate with PLC programmers and mechanical designers Support manufacturing and field installation when required Required Qualifications Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent experience Extensive experience designing industrial control panels Strong knowledge of: Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) U.S. National Electrical Code (NEC) Industrial control panel design practices Experience with 600V, 480V, and 120V control systems Experience designing motor control centers and industrial automation systems Familiarity with PLC-based control systems (Siemens preferred) Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar electrical CAD software Ability to produce professional, manufacturing-ready drawing packages Preferred Experience UL 508A knowledge CSA certification requirements Industrial machinery or process automation Concrete batching plants, aggregate handling, conveyors, silos, or similar heavy industrial equipment Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) Safety relays and emergency stop circuits Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, or industrial networking What We Offer Ongoing engineering work Flexible hours Interesting industrial automation projects Opportunity to become a long-term engineering partner When Applying Please include: Examples of industrial control panel projects you have designed Electrical drawings or sample schematics (if permitted) Years of experience CAD software you use Experience with Canadian and U.S. electrical codes Your hourly rate and weekly availability
