Infrastructure Engineer – Multi-App Deployment & Cleanup

Looking for a dev ops to come in audit a messy estate and set it up for success going forward fix, organise and standardise approximately 12 connected websites, applications, APIs and supporting services. The ecosystem is partially live across Linux VPS servers. Some containers, databases, environment variables, Cloudflare records and Coolify environments already exist, but the estate is not yet consistently mapped, company-controlled, staging-ready or rollback-safe. Technology includes: * Linux VPS, Docker and Docker Compose * Coolify * GitHub and self-hosted Gitea * Cloudflare DNS, SSL, proxying, caching, WAF and R2 * Postgres * Redis caching and application state * BullMQ queues, workers, retries and scheduled jobs * Strapi, Next.js, APIs, PWAs and mobile services * nginx/Traefik, monitoring, logging and backups ## Required End Result Every applicable project must have: * Development/Staging 2, Pre-production/Staging 1 and Production environments * company-owned GitHub repositories * automatic Gitea mirroring to our AI server * protected branches, pull requests and traceable deployments * owner approval required before every Production release * clean developer push, promotion, deployment and rollback procedures * separate Postgres databases, Redis/BullMQ services, credentials and storage per environment * stable Docker/Coolify deployments with health checks and restart policies * correct Cloudflare and R2 configuration * monitoring, logging, backups, security and complete handover documentation Required release flow: **Feature/Development → Staging 2 → Staging 1 → Production** Developers must not push directly to Production. Every live release must be traceable to the exact repository, branch, commit and approver. ## Responsibilities * Audit servers, domains, containers, code, repositories, branches, databases, queues, storage and environment variables * Compare live server code against Git and safely capture missing changes * Fix duplicated, broken or inconsistent infrastructure * Standardise GitHub, Gitea, Docker and Coolify * Configure Postgres, Redis, BullMQ, Cloudflare caching and R2 * Implement application rollback using Git commits and retained Docker images * Configure automated Postgres, uploads, configuration and Coolify backups * Back up Gitea repositories, database and configuration to the attached 4TB drive * Maintain encrypted local and off-server backup copies * Test database restore, application rollback and disaster recovery * Remove obsolete services only after verified backup and approval * Produce full infrastructure, deployment, access and recovery documentation No destructive production change may be made without a verified backup, rollback plan and explicit approval. This is a hands-on implementation role, not advisory-only. You will work with the owner, current technical lead, internal support staff and Codex-generated audit/deployment packs.
