Instructional / Training Content Developer Build Course Modules (Content + Activities + Handouts)

We are developing an 8 Module training program for organizational transformation on a technical topic (sustainability) We need an experienced instructional designer with strong visual design and PowerPoint skills to develop the full learning materials for each module, including the core training content, learner activities, and supporting handouts. Work will be delivered module by module so we can review and approve each one before moving to the next. This is a content development AND visual design role. We need someone who can take learning objectives and (often complex or technical) source material and turn it into clear, visually engaging, adult-learning-friendly material with polished, professional PowerPoint decks at the core, supported by other design tools where they elevate the result. Scope of Work 1. Training Content (PowerPoint-led) - Structured lesson content mapped to clear learning objectives - A polished, visually engaging PowerPoint deck(facilitator- and/or self-paced-ready) - Custom visuals - diagrams, infographics, process flows, data visualizations that simplify complex or technical concepts - Logical flow with intros, key concepts, examples, and summaries 2. Learner Activities - 2 activities per module (e.g. discussions, scenarios, case studies, quizzes, role-plays, group exercises) - Clear instructions, timing, and intended outcomes - Where relevant, gamified or interactive elements 3. Handouts & Aids - Participant worksheets, reference sheets, checklists, or templates - Clean, branded, print- and screen-ready formatting 4. Assessment / Knowledge Checks - Short quizzes or reflection prompts to confirm understanding We will provide source material / outlines / brand guidelines edit as applicable. You will be responsible for the instructional design and final polished materials. Working Approach (Module-by-Module) - We work in milestones — one module per milestone - For each module: draft → our review → revisions → approval → next module. - Each module should be self-contained but consistent in style, tone, and template with the others. - We expect [1–2] rounds of revisions per module included. - Deliverable Formats - Editable PowerPoint (PPTX) source files for all decks - Editable handout files (DOCX/PDF) where appropriate - Source/export files for any custom graphics created in other tools - All files using a consistent template/branding we agree on in Module 1 Required Skills & Experience - Advanced PowerPoint skills — you can build clean, modern, visually compelling decks (not bullet-heavy text dumps); strong command of layouts, animation, master slides, and templates - Visual design ability — comfortable using additional tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop, Figma, infographic or diagramming tools) to create custom graphics, icons, and data visualizations - Proven experience developing training material for organizational transformation OR highly technical topics — you can take dense, complex, or change-heavy content and make it clear and engaging (please share relevant samples) - Proven instructional design / curriculum development experience - Strong understanding of adult learning principles (ADDIE, Bloom's, Kirkpatrick, or similar) - Excellent writing and content-structuring skills in English - Ability to design engaging activities and assessments — not just slides - Reliable, communicative, and able to work to milestone deadlines Nice to have: e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline/Rise, Captivate), motion/animation skills, and experience translating technical SME input into learner-friendly content.
