Interior Architectural Designer Needed for Long-Term On-Demand Collaboration

We are an architectural and engineering design firm looking to build a long-term working relationship with an experienced interior architectural designer to support us with ongoing residential and commercial projects on an as-needed basis. We are looking for someone creative, detail-oriented, reliable, responsive, and experienced in developing interior design concepts, interior layouts, material selections, and interior architectural drawing packages for client review, contractor coordination, and permit or construction documentation when needed. This is not for one single project only. We are looking for a long-term interior design partner who can assist us with multiple projects as they come up. Scope of Work May Include: - Interior space planning and layout design - Interior architectural design concepts - Kitchen and bathroom layout design - Cabinetry and millwork design - Reflected ceiling plans - Lighting layout coordination - Finish plans and finish schedules - Flooring layouts - Wall treatment and feature wall design - Interior elevations and sections - Interior details - Door, hardware, fixture, and equipment coordination - Material, finish, color, and fixture recommendations - Furniture layout and space planning - 3D views, mood boards, renderings, or visual presentations - Coordination with architectural, structural, MEP, and other consultant drawings - Revisions based on client comments, contractor coordination, or city/agency comments - Preparation of drawings suitable for client presentation, contractor coordination, and permit/construction use Project Types May Include: - Custom residential projects - Residential remodels and additions - Kitchen and bathroom remodels - ADUs and accessory structures - Tenant improvements - Office interiors - Retail interiors - Restaurant or hospitality interiors - Small commercial improvements - Interior architectural upgrades and space planning Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate should have experience with: - Residential and/or commercial interior architectural design - Interior construction documents - Space planning and functional layout design - Finish, fixture, and material selection - Kitchen, bathroom, cabinetry, and millwork coordination - Reading and coordinating architectural, structural, and MEP drawings - Preparing clean, organized, and professional drawings - Working from sketches, redlines, PDFs, photos, existing plans, and client requirements - Creating practical, buildable, and aesthetically pleasing design solutions - Communicating clearly and responding to revisions in a timely manner Software Skills Preferred: Please mention which software you use, such as: - AutoCAD - Revit - SketchUp - Chief Architect - 2020 Design - Enscape - Lumion - Photoshop - Illustrator - Bluebeam - Adobe Acrobat - Any other interior design, rendering, drafting, or presentation software Working Relationship: Work will be assigned on a project-by-project basis. Some projects may require only layout studies, mood boards, or finish recommendations, while others may require complete interior architectural drawings, elevations, details, schedules, and renderings. We are looking for someone who can understand the design intent, coordinate with our internal team, follow project requirements, meet deadlines, and help us produce professional design packages for our clients, contractors, and permitting agencies.
