Internship Program seeks Aerospace Engineering Mentor (Mechanical Design, CAD & Product Development)

We are currently seeking an experienced Aerospace Engineer to mentor one of our outstanding rising high school seniors with an exceptional background in engineering design, CAD, manufacturing, and aerospace projects. This is a paid mentoring opportunity for someone who enjoys teaching, coaching, and helping develop the next generation of engineers. About the Student Our student has already demonstrated significant engineering experience, including: CAD design using OnShape and Fusion 360 Mechanical design and rapid prototyping 3D printing and manufacturing Robotics Aerospace Club Project Lead NASA TechRise project participation ADS-B receiver development Model rocket and high-altitude balloon projects Engineering research involving tensile testing and materials analysis Leadership in STEM organizations and nonprofit engineering education He is seeking additional real-world experience in: Aerospace Engineering Mechanical Engineering Space Systems Aircraft Design Manufacturing Engineering Systems Engineering Product Development What You'll Do The mentor will provide a structured internship experience that includes: Weekly project planning meetings Technical mentoring Meaningful engineering assignments Design reviews CAD feedback Engineering best practices Exposure to aerospace design workflows Career guidance Final project evaluation The intern should contribute to actual engineering work whenever practical while receiving guidance appropriate for a high school student. Timeline & Time Commitment: Duration: Most internships are planned for 4 to 6 weeks. Student Experience: Interns complete a total of 60 hours of work/learning. Your Expected Time Allocation: 8 to 10 hours total of management and mentorship across the entire 4-6 weeks.
