Japan Travel Concierge & Itinerary Planner

I am traveling to Japan with my son from July 6 through July 14, 2026. My flights and hotels are already booked, but I am looking for an experienced travel planner to help build the remainder of the trip. I need someone who can help transform my existing reservations into a well-organized, easy-to-follow itinerary, including transportation, activities, reservations, and day-to-day planning. This is a short-term hourly project with most of the work occurring immediately. However, I would like to keep the contract active through the duration of the trip in case questions or travel issues arise while we are in Japan. What I Need Help With - Review my existing flights and hotel reservations - Build a practical day-by-day itinerary - Recommend attractions and activities based on our interests - Identify must-see experiences in each destination - Research and assist with reservations and ticket purchases - Determine the best transportation methods between destinations - Advise when to use trains, taxis, Uber, or other transportation options - Provide guidance on Shinkansen (bullet train) travel, including whether tickets should be purchased in advance - Assist with DisneySea ticket purchases - Research Pokémon Café availability and alternative experiences if reservations are unavailable - Provide transportation instructions between airports, hotels, train stations, and attractions - Recommend restaurants, neighborhoods, and local experiences - Create a final itinerary that is easy to follow while traveling ## Current Destinations My current itinerary includes: * Tokyo * Fujiyoshida / Mount Fuji area * Kyoto Additional travel details, hotel information, and preferences will be provided to the selected freelancer. ## Ideal Candidate * Has personally traveled extensively in Japan or has planned multiple Japan itineraries for clients * Understands Japanese transportation systems, including Shinkansen, local trains, airport transfers, and transit passes * Knows current reservation requirements for major attractions * Can recommend realistic itineraries rather than overly ambitious sightseeing schedules * Strong attention to detail and organization * Excellent written communication * Comfortable serving as a travel concierge before and during the trip * Available for occasional troubleshooting and support while we are traveling ## Project Timing & Ongoing Support I would like to begin immediately and have the majority of the itinerary completed within the next several days. This is an hourly project. While most of the work will occur before departure, I would like to keep the contract active through the duration of the trip (July 6–14, 2026). During travel, I may occasionally reach out for assistance with transportation questions, itinerary adjustments, reservation issues, ticketing questions, or other travel-related support. I do not anticipate this being a significant time commitment, but I would like the option to have an experienced resource available if needed. Ideally, the selected freelancer will be responsive, proactive, and available for occasional troubleshooting while we are in Japan. ## When Applying, Please Include 1.
