KILLER Writers Needed For True Crime Media Channel

Before anything, we are looking purely for killers in the true crime writing space. If you don’t have any experience, please save our time and yours, and don’t apply. Since we’re seeking an experienced YouTube scriptwriter to mirror the writing of channels like: Dr Insanity The Finest Cam Judge Williams Etc. Your Role & Responsibilities: As our scriptwriter, you will be responsible for: - Researching assigned cases thoroughly: Gather information from credible sources (news articles, court documents, interviews, etc.) about each true-crime case, with an emphasis on cases involving female perpetrators or key female figures. - Writing a compelling narrative script (~1000–2500 words): Structure the story in a clear, engaging way typically covering the background, crime, investigation, and outcome. The script should read like a documentary narrative, not just a news report. Expect each script to produce a video about 40 minutes - 1 hour long. - Including key case details: Incorporate legal proceedings and outcomes (charges, trials, verdicts, sentencing) and psychological/societal context (e.g. possible motives, background of the perpetrator, etc etc) Required Qualifications: We’re looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria: - Proven experience in scriptwriting for YouTube or digital media. (Experience with true crime content is highly preferred. Bonus if you’ve written for channels similar to ours or the examples above.) - Excellent storytelling skills – you know how to structure a narrative for suspense and emotional impact while sticking to the facts. You can write in a tone that is engaging yet appropriate for serious content. - - Strong research and fact-checking abilities. You should be resourceful in finding details about criminal cases (court documents, reputable news, etc.) and verifying information. Familiarity with U.S. legal terminology and criminal justice procedures is required to accurately convey trial details and charges. Reliability and adaptability: Able to meet deadlines consistently (we typically need 2-3 scripts per week), with an average turnaround time of 48-72 hours. Compensation & Contract Details: - Budget: $125 - $175 USD per script, depending on experience. - Workflow: Topics/cases will be assigned to you (though we welcome suggestions for interesting cases too). We’ll provide any information we have, but you will often need to do independent research. Scripts are delivered in Google Docs. Revisions (if needed) will be requested within a few days of submission. How to Apply: 1. Highlight any experience with legal or crime-related content. 2. Relevant Writing Samples: Attach or link to 2-3 samples of your writing. True-crime or investigative pieces are highly preferred. If you have YouTube script samples (even better if they were produced as videos), please include those. We want to see your ability to tell a story and maintain viewer interest. 3. Availability: Let us know how soon you can start and how many scripts you could comfortably write per month.
