Summary

SUMMARY Legal Support Specialist (Commercial & IP Law) Remote – Ongoing Contract Flexible Hours (Typically 0–10+ hours per week, depending on requirements) ABOUT THE ROLE: I'm currently looking for an experienced legal professional to work alongside our CEO, supporting a London and Monaco-based entrepreneur with several active businesses, property interests, and personal projects. This is not a traditional legal secretary or administrative role. We're looking for someone with genuine legal knowledge - perhaps someone who has studied law, qualified as a solicitor or lawyer, worked in private practice, or gained substantial commercial legal experience. Whilst applicants may be based anywhere, they must have a strong working knowledge of UK law, particularly UK commercial law and UK intellectual property (IP) law. The role primarily involves providing practical legal support across commercial law and intellectual property matters, alongside a broad range of business activities. You'll help review documents, carry out legal research, prepare and review contracts, identify potential legal issues, and provide commercially focused legal support to assist with day-to-day business decisions. Knowledge of UK employment law and UK property law (including conveyancing experience where relevant) would be advantageous, although these are not essential requirements. We're looking for someone proactive, commercially minded, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently. This is a long-term remote support role for someone who enjoys solving problems, working across varied legal matters, and becoming a trusted extension of the CEO. The workload is intentionally very flexible. Some weeks there may be around 10 hours of work, while other weeks there may be little or no work at all. We're looking for someone who values flexibility and is happy to provide support as and when required. The role also offers the opportunity to use modern AI tools to improve legal research, drafting, and workflow efficiency. This is not an entry-level role. Previous legal experience is essential. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Legal Support: • Reviewing commercial contracts and agreements • Preparing, reviewing, and amending NDAs and other legal documents • Conducting legal research across commercial, intellectual property, and business law matters • Identifying legal risks and highlighting key issues for consideration • Supporting commercial transactions and intellectual property matters • Assisting with corporate, employment, and property-related legal matters where required • Supporting contract management and document organisation • Liaising with external solicitors and other professional advisers where required • Drafting legal correspondence and summaries • Maintaining organised legal records and documentation • Providing practical legal input across ongoing business projects Business & Administrative Support: • Assisting with general business administration where legal knowledge is beneficial • Helping coordinate legal documentation across multiple businesses • Supporting governance, compliance, and internal processes where appropriate AI & Process Improvement: • Using AI tools to improve legal research and document drafting • Helping streamline repetitive legal and administrative tasks • Supporting smarter systems and organisation across multiple projects WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR: • A law degree or equivalent legal qualification, or significant practical legal experience • Previous experience working within a UK law firm, an in-house legal team, or a similar legal environment supporting UK businesses • Strong working knowledge of UK commercial law and UK intellectual property (IP) law • Knowledge of UK employment law and UK property law (including conveyancing experience where relevant) would be advantageous • Excellent written and spoken English • Strong legal research and drafting skills • Exceptional attention to detail • Commercial awareness and practical problem-solving ability • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities • Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion • Confident using Microsoft 365 and modern online tools • Interest in AI tools and willingness to use technology to improve workflows Bonus if you have: • UK legal qualification (Solicitor, Barrister, CILEX or equivalent legal experience) • Experience across commercial contracts and intellectual property matters • Experience supporting founders, entrepreneurs, or high-net-worth individuals • Experience working across multiple businesses or jurisdictions • Experience using AI productivity tools within legal work WORKING STYLE: • Remote ongoing contract • Highly flexible workload based on business requirements • Typically between 0–10+ hours per week • Some weeks may require no support, while others may require additional availability • Availability during UK business hours is preferred • Ideally responsive within a reasonable timeframe during the working day • Long-term relationship preferred IDEAL PERSON: You are: • Commercially minded and practical • Calm, organised, and highly dependable • Comfortable working across varied legal matters • Able to explain legal concepts in plain English • Detail-oriented without overcomplicating issues • Proactive and solutions-focused • Professional, approachable, and easy to work with • Someone who enjoys becoming a trusted adviser rather than simply completing administrative tasks TO APPLY: Please include: • A short introduction about your legal background • Your CV or résumé • Details of your legal qualifications and/or practical legal experience • Examples of the types of legal work you've supported, particularly in UK commercial and IP law • Your experience using AI tools in your legal workflow • Your hourly rate and general availability Only applicants with strong written English, relevant legal experience, and a solid understanding of UK law will be considered.
