Mandarin Translator & Apartment Search Assistant Needed (Hangzhou, China)

I am a U.S.-based professor planning a 1–2 month stay in Hangzhou, China with my wife and young child. I am looking for a bilingual English/Mandarin assistant to help me find and secure a family-friendly apartment rental. ## Tasks * Search Chinese apartment rental websites and local listings. * Communicate with landlords, agents, and property managers in Mandarin. * Translate messages and conversations between English and Mandarin. * Identify apartments that meet our requirements. * Assist with virtual viewings when possible. * Help verify rental terms, deposits, utilities, and move-in requirements. * Provide local recommendations regarding neighborhoods, transportation, schools, and family-friendly areas. ## Apartment Requirements * Hangzhou, China * 2-bedroom apartment minimum * Family-friendly building or community * Good internet * Modern furnishings preferred * Suitable for a couple and a young child * Budget approximately USD $1,000–$1,500 per month * Flexible stay of 1–2 months, potentially longer ## Preferred Qualifications * Native Mandarin speaker * Strong English communication skills * Currently located in Hangzhou * Experience assisting foreigners or expats * Familiarity with local rental platforms and apartment hunting ## Project Type Initially a short-term project (10–20 hours), with the possibility of ongoing consulting and translation assistance during our stay.
