# Marketing VA for AI SaaS Startup (Short-Term Rental Niche) — Community Monitoring, Influencer Research & Social Support ## About the role I'm the founder of an early-stage AI-powered marketing platform for short-term rental hosts (Airbnb/VRBO). We help hosts create professional marketing content in minutes instead of hours. (I'll share the company name and full details with shortlisted candidates.) We're at launch stage, and I'm looking for a sharp, reliable Marketing VA to be my eyes and ears in the online communities where our customers hang out — and to help me build our influencer outreach pipeline. This starts at approximately **10 hours per week** with real potential to grow as we scale. I'm looking for a long-term fit, not a one-off gig. ## What you'll do **Community monitoring (core of the role):** - Monitor a defined list of Facebook groups, subreddits, and host community forums for threads matching our keyword list (topics like listing descriptions, slow bookings, direct booking sites, social media for rentals) - Deliver a digest 3x per week: links to relevant threads, a one-line summary of each, and a suggested angle for how we could helpfully engage - Flag urgent/high-value threads (viral complaints, hosts explicitly asking for tools like ours) same-day **Influencer research:** - Build and maintain a prospect list of micro-influencers (roughly 10k–50k followers) in the short-term rental, real estate investing, and travel-hosting niches - For each prospect: name, platform(s), audience size, engagement quality, contact info, rates if published, and a one-line note on fit - Draft first-touch outreach messages from my templates for my review **Social support:** - Schedule approved posts using our scheduling tool - Light tracking: who we contacted, who replied, what threads we engaged, in a shared spreadsheet **What you will NOT do (so we're clear up front):** - Post as me or from my personal accounts without explicit approval on each post - Handle ad spend, billing, or payments of any kind - Need my personal logins — access is granted through Facebook Business Manager roles and a shared password vault, and you'll always work under your own credentials where the platform allows it ## Requirements - Excellent written English — your digests and outreach drafts need to read naturally to a US audience - Genuine familiarity with how Facebook groups and Reddit actually work (community norms, what gets people banned, what reads as spam) - Strong research skills and clean spreadsheet habits (Google Sheets) - Responsive communication — I don't need you online all day, but I do need replies within one business day and a few hours of overlap with US Eastern Time - Comfortable following a written style guide (we have detailed content standards you'll work from) ## Nice to have - Experience in the short-term rental, real estate, or travel niche - Familiarity with Canva and a social scheduling tool (Buffer, Later, Metricool, or similar) - Comfort using AI tools to draft and summarize (we're an AI company — we like people who use good tools well) ## Budget & schedule - **Hours:** ~10 hrs/week to start, flexible scheduling, growth likely - **Rate:** propose your hourly rate in your application - **Start:** within 1–2 weeks ## How to apply Keep your cover letter short — a few sentences on your relevant experience is plenty. Templated or AI-mass-generated applications will be skipped. So I know you actually read this post, **start your application with the word "porchlight."** Please answer these three questions in your application: 1. Describe your experience participating in or monitoring Facebook groups or subreddits — which communities, and in what capacity? 2. Share one example (link or description) of research or list-building work you've done for a previous client. 3. What hours (in your local time) would you typically work, and what does that overlap with US Eastern Time look like? Looking forward to meeting you!
