Martech Strategy Executive Tips Data, Inc. · Remote-first (NJ-area a plus) · Full-time About Tips Data Tips Data is a fast-moving B2B data startup building an integrated contact-data and outreach ecosystem — a core data platform, a cold-email outreach engine, and a contact CRM, all designed to work together instead of forcing customers to duct-tape five tools together. We're founder-led and engineering-driven, and we're hiring a strategist to point that engineering firepower at the right targets. The Role This is a market-intelligence and product-strategy role at its heart. You'll live inside the Martech landscape — the tools, the workflows, the broken handoffs — and translate what you find into concrete opportunities for our engineering team to build against. You're the person who can look at how companies actually generate, enrich, and act on contact data today, find where the process bleeds time and money, and hand our builders a clear "here's the gap, here's why it hurts, here's where we win." You won't be writing the code. You'll be deciding what's worth coding. What You'll Do Map the pain. Document how businesses currently run data sourcing, enrichment, outreach, deliverability, and CRM workflows — and pinpoint exactly where those processes break down, create friction, or cost users money. Tear down the competition. Develop deep, working fluency in competitor and adjacent tools across the Martech and data stack (CDPs, enrichment providers, outreach platforms, CRMs, deliverability tooling). Know their features, their pricing, and — most importantly — their weaknesses. Find the niche. Identify underserved segments and unmet needs where a focused product can carve out a defensible position, and pressure-test those openings against real market demand. Brief the builders. Turn your findings into clear, prioritized opportunity briefs the founder and engineering team can act on — the problem, who feels it, why current tools fail at it, and what "winning" would look like. Talk to the market. Engage prospects, users, and industry contacts to validate (or kill) hypotheses before we invest engineering time building them. Shape the roadmap. Sit close to the founder as a strategic partner, helping decide where the product goes next based on evidence, not guesswork. What We're Looking For Real depth in the Martech, sales-tech, or B2B data space — you understand how these tools work, how they're sold, and how people actually use (and misuse) them. A strategic, analytical mind that's energized by finding the gap others missed. Strong ability to translate messy market reality into clear, actionable insight — you can take a tangle of workflows and competitor features and distill the one opportunity that matters. Comfort working alongside technical founders and engineers; you don't need to write code, but you need to think rigorously enough that engineers trust your briefs. Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity — this is an early-stage role where you'll often be the first person to chart a given area. Nice to Have Hands-on experience with data enrichment, email deliverability, outreach automation, or CRM platforms. A background in product strategy, competitive intelligence, GTM strategy, or martech consulting. A network in the B2B data / sales-tech world you can tap for fast validation. You'll have a rare, direct line from "I found a real problem in the market" to "we shipped the thing that solves it."
